LSU does have a pretty good history of putting out beast wrs considering Lafell, Bowe, OBJ, Landry as of lately.
still blows my mind the talent that comes through LSU

hell 2010 Lee didn't even have to make mistakes for Les to bench him. JJ would stink it up all game, Lee comes in and we win. Then next week right back to the JJ train.

yes he has but I have faith he will start making plays.
I hope so. He's a jr., so he might want to consider doing so pretty soon. I find it funny that you think the scouting report on him is fabricated.

Where's he going to play dropping balls like that, though? He was in a run first scheme in high school. Maybe it masked his lack of hands?
maybe so...I heard Chark was suppose to be the man. I wonder why he hasn't replaced him

Exactly. That's why I didn't hate Etling taking a chance on that end zone throw to Malachi.
Spin it how you like...but he was careless with the ball in scoring position.

I think the mobility of Etling may help him in Miles' eyes.
Lee was a statue. Etling is mobile and that was always Miles excuse to going back to Jefferson.
Maybe. I don't know with Miles anymore.

I think once our D gets better as it should by the end of the season under Aranda then we will only need DE to basically act like McElroy for bama. He doesn't need to sling the rock all over, just go in make a good check down, every now and then surprise the other team with a deep ball and we are golden.
This also hinges on the special team improving as well, but we can win with just a game manager at qb. I don't know why les hates a game manager.

again...Etling is not the 2nd coming but to run the ball control offense Les loves so dearly, he's the guy that fits the mold better.

I specifically without looking it up at all remember the UF game being one that Lee had to save.

what? I have never seen a scouting report on him
If our qbs don't get in a groove (in our current offense) why is it people think wrs should? hell I think our pass blocking problems have to do with not doing it as often as run blocking

Hopefully this year will be different with Miles coaching for his job.

I really don't get miles need for a mobile qb in our offense. He keeps trying to jam these square pegs into the round hole.
our offense would work just fine as it is with a good pocket passer. A good pocket passer would allow us to go back to using the middle of the field on slants and stuff like that.
I think this is the most puzzling thing about Les Miles, he wants the 1970 offense with a 2016 qb. it wont work but he keeps doing it over and over again.

That interception was all on Etling. It was well underthrown
If the throw had been any longer it would have been out of the end-zone. The ball was slightly late, but Dupre was out of position.
I had no problem with the throw. I thought Dupre would at a minimum knock it down.

Members of the Wisconsin coaching staff expressly stated that they were not worried about his height advantage because it disappears when he is challenged. How would they know (or at least believe) this in the very first game of the season?
Look, I'm pulling for the kid. I hope he turns it around, but his play is not new if you've been paying attention. As with other facets of our play under Miles, sometimes you just have to accept that certain things are status quo when they happen over and over and over again.

Etling's footwork is incredible compared to BH. It's clear he didn't learn that here.

quote:Bingo! on both! Last year Bama, OM, and Piggies crashed the line (at different frequencies) and this year Wisky did. LBs at LF7's feet before he's at LoS. Why does this not happen to other teams, especially Bama/OM/Arky, at least not very often. Because if you do it to them more than once they start hitting quick slants and various quick TE routes, or get a TE up the seam (OJ Howard anyone)? Why does it happen to LSU with increasing frequency? No fear of a quick read, hot routes, an adjusting scheme to situation at hand, and a QB who makes such plays.

quote:Either BH is not very coachable, or it wasn't coached with enough emphasis. Net result should be same. Funny thing is, very few QB-RB bad exchanges with BH as compared to say Mett, which indicates good footwork. Either way, adjustments weren't made to BH (maybe just needs to be moving?) or it wasn't emphasized on drop backs.
