our 5 star talent should win what would normally be a 50/50 ball. Especially a wr that has the height of Dupre. The issue is Dupre doesn't fight to win any ball. He plays extremely small on top of having shite for hands.

Dupre has bitched about coming here and not liking the offense and has sowed offseason discord about it, and now he's getting balls and he is doing absolutely nothing with it. The drop in the second quarter was as bad of a drop as I've seen at LSU. Just an atrocious lack of focus. Playing like that, you couldn't get on the field for one of the wide open offenses he pines for.

Not that I disagree, but there were 3 catchable balls dropped in the Wisky game that likely cost us the win, but this board doesn't seem to want to give Harris those same breaks
if you look at the thread in which a poster posted all of Harris's throw, tRant absolutely gives Harris credit for that

I recall pass was too late, but still haven't replayed the game.

That interception was all on Etling. It was well underthrown
It was underthrown, but it was not a bad decision.
Dupre had a step on his defender and it was 1 on 1.
An elite receiver will win that battle. Dupre got whipped.

1. Jump ball to Dupre that was intercepted - was under thrown but Dupre didn't get position and made no effort to contest it.

6/14 100 yards 2 tds and 2 turnovers against JSU
12/21 131 yards 1 td 2 turnovers against Wisky

yep, if Dupre was as good as he was billed he wins that. The Aj Green, Julio Jones, OBJ, Landry type wrs all win that ball or at least stop the int. Dupre just fades on back. I don't if that was just a product of him being soft or his shite attitude because his bestie was benched.

why are 50/50 balls should be catches by our guys?
Because we supposed to have a 6'4", 5 star, Junior, wide receiver going against a Jacksonville st. defensive back!

Hyperbole. Tough play for sure. Many college wide receivers would have at least knocked it down, though.

if you just want to use the stat line, that is fine
I didn't think Harris played that poorly against Wisconsin. The last INT was awful, but the rest was...ok.

yeah. dupre really didn't have much of a chance of catching the ball. i wish he would have at least prevented the INT though.
but it was definitely a bad throw. a second late and 5 yards underthrown.

they shouldn't all be....but when you're 6'4" going against 5'10" it should be more like 75% and the other 25% should be incomplete.

He saw the favorable 1on1 matchups with no deep safety with malachi and put it up to him, malachi has just been sucking it up lately

amazing what a few drops and what the Wisconsin coaching staff can do to a players rep. I never thought he didn't use his height to catch passes. I seem to remember him being great at catching the fade in the end zone. He was awesome 10 days ago and now he sucks

Terrible protection by the offensive line. It is a shame that they can't pass block worth a shite.

Danny's pocket presence is light years ahead of Brandon's. There were two or three times he stepped up in the pocket and avoided defenders when Brandon would have almost assuredly taken a sack. He just has that knack for being able to focus downfield while having situational awareness at the same time. That ability on it's own should put him ahead of Brandon, despite any negatives we saw in his first action since arriving at LSU. It's one of those things you either have or don't have. That should have been extremely evident throughout fall camp and allowed the competition to be opened up.
The most impressive play to me was on a third down in the 3rd Q (I believe) where he had to scramble. He tucked and began to run and right before he crossed the LOS he saw the TE break open. He switched the ball from tuck to throwing position and got the ball off for a first down. That quick decision, fast-twitch ability while being able to see down the field is just a natural ability he has that Brandon hasn't shown.
I hate it for Brandon, but this game isn't about feelings. It's about winning.

or even committed offensive pass int to stop the turnover. I really wouldn't expect him to catch it because it would be spectacular but a little effort to at least impede the DB from intercepting it would be nice. I think that is a product of bad attitude though, he just gives up.

quote:I am of the opinion Etling and Harris are about even. Neither will give you much more than the other. I would actually be in favor of rotating them. I usually hate that, but I think with out broke dick offense, the spark of a new Qb is about the only thing that can work for us
