77-72 SEC record over 5 full seasons

At LSU…a program fully built.
Paul was fired with a way better record than that over his last 5 years.
I’m on record. I hope JJ is gone. This guy is not the answer and you’ll know it next year too.

Go find any coach with a way better record than 77-72 in conference. Shouldn’t be difficult. There’s tons of them. Probably even some at lower levels that would do anything to coach with the resources LSU has. And you probably wouldn’t have to pay them $3.35 million a year.
$3 million a year for a college baseball coach, in a sport that makes no revenue, and has a barely over 500 conference record.

Dave Roberts also has 2 World Series rings. 3 if you count the covid season. You think the Dodgers are giving him a lifetime contract? If he went 60-102 (which is essentially what LSU did this year), he’d be fired immediately,

Paul's last 3 seasons of SEC play he was 45-45 with no national titles. If you include the Covid season, Paul would have been well under .500.
Paul's last 5 seasons of SEC coaching, he was 51-73 in the SEC.
Paul's last 13 seasons of collegiate baseball coaching he finished with zero national championships.
Johnson's last 4 seasons of collegiate coaching he's finished with 2 national championships.
The guy who "isn't the answer" at LSU has won more titles in 5 years than any other program has won in the last 13. The guy who "isn't the answer" at LSU has won more or as many titles in the last 5 years than any program in the country in the country in the last 20. The guy who "isn't the answer" at LSU has won more national titles than every active coach in the sport but one, who he is tied with, and that coach will be in his 8th consecutive year of not winning a title.
