He is not an enormous liability...now, our O line...

He was the weakest link in the offense yesterday. Our O Line actually played better than they have all year.

Etling is tough, seems to be a great leader, and really showed both of those traits yesterday.

He’s a pretty bad passer though and had his worst passing game of his career maybe. It really limits the offense. The OL was not nearly as bad yesterday as people are saying.

This board cares nothing about those stats. What they see is the absolutely horrible game he had yesterday. He’s a terrible qb because he had a terrible game. If Jordan Jefferson were on the bench they’d be calling for him to be the starter.

But he is.

It is plain to see that Canada has eliminated huge chunks of the playbook because Danny can't make the throws.

If Auburns offense is on point next week, donyou honestlu believe Etling gives us even the slightest chance in a shoot out?

And it still baffles me that freshmen QBs all over the country can win games and put up huge numbers, but never at LSU.

Again, if a Etling really is our best chance to win, fine he should keep the starting job.

But I can't think of a bigger indictment of our QB recruiting and QB evaluations over the last several years.

Um, I would absolutely take Jefferson at QB over Etling ... with Canada at cooridinator.

It will get worse under Etling. Sec defenses kill the kid. We know he can do good against the cupcakes. We need a qb that can operate against sec defenses. Etling can't. I'm sure Danny is a good dude but just this year we played a sunbelt team with a better qb. Literally everyone we have played this year besides Chattanooga had a better qb. We go in every week with that disadvantage.

Frankly, I’d rather lose competively and develop some semblance of a passing game this year than win games like yesterday.

What’s interesting here is that Etling’s numbers through 6 games this year are very similar to Jarrett Lee’s numbers before the Bama game.

Just goes to show you how winning/losing can warp people’s perceptions of reality. This board birthed an elephant when Lee was pulled in favor of Jefferson.

People have short memories. They forgot just how bad some of our previous qbs were. I mean shite, I just had someone tell me he’d rather JJ be the starter.

They didn’t get the pick call wrong. Both players possessed the ball to the ground. The dB took 1 hand off the ball, and Chark kept both hands on and finished through the play. It was absolutely the right call.

Ball could’ve been thrown better, but it was absolutely the right call

Some people don't understand football. Jefferson was asked to go out and win games ... and he wasn't good at it. But he was better than what we have now. And in Canada's offense, he would have been much more efficient than he was in a Miles' prostyle offense. Lee would as well.

This is college football. A 60% completion percentage is pretty shitty.

JJ is better than Etling and would probably be pretty successful in this offense

Etling is not a good passer and a liability.

Saying this does not make us evil, angry, or LSU 'haters".

Florida alone dropped 4 easy INT's yesterday.

There have been other dropped potential interceptions by the opposition all season as well.

If you think Etling is a good QB then you are a...

Game manager missed two easy touchdowns. One over Williams head, another late in the game when Williams was open in the flat. The deep corner receiver on that side was wide open around the 5. Senior QBs have to make those plays. Let's go with The Future.
