Classic Brian Kelly shitting the bed. Can’t keep elite commitments.

I really wish they would make these kids honor their commitment, they wanted to be treated like professionals they need to behave like professionals

Because its expensive to get top portal players and with freshmen you can build them up the way you want.
You'll lose some freshmen, but when a position has depth issues, you portal
but you don't get much value because freshmen rarely play and they leave when they improve.
I would like to see a team experiment with only signing transfers and see how it goes.
like an MLB team that doesn't play guys they draft. they only really promote from AAA

A bit concerning we have only 2 5 star recruits now and both on defense.

WRs grow on trees in Louisiana.
True dat!
Thanks to the ever changing world of NIL, I'm just about to the point that I'd rather have a 3* WR from LA who WANTS to play at LSU over a 5* national recruit whose only loyalty is to the best NIL deal.

Who cares let him get over paid at Tenn. One position we never need help with.
People keep repeating this bullshite. Our reliance on the portal every of Hanktons tenure would imply the opposite. Seems the staff does indeed worry about the position and believe help is warranted.

We are deep at receiver every year. The next 4 years won’t change that most likely. Like you said, just go to the portal. Welcome to the new college football world

Yes, Brian a Kelly has no responsibility as the head coach to know about possible suspension status of transfer players…. Oh wait. Of course he does. He dropped the ball…as usual. Dude is a clown coach. This will give him an excuse when he shits the bed to open the season again.

Straight incompetence by Kelly. He had no clue until 3 days before the season started.

Verge should have been fired years ago. He’s a horrible DEI employee.

How retarded is Brian Kelly that he had no clue this was a possibility until 3 days before the season began. Incompetent.

I’m preparing myself for another BK opener choke and the season being over after week 1. Next year is a total rebuild so if BK is gonna do anything at LSU this is his year. I just don’t expect much from him.

Agreed. LSU is losing at least 3 regular season games, which unfortunately keep us out of the playoffs. Too many question marks for this team...and Brian Kelly being Brian Kelly.

No one’s committed until they sign the papers Nobody should be surprised

I personally don't want anyone here who is simply chasing a pay day.. Good riddance, IMO

His commitment to Tennessee means no more than it did to LSU.

Tristen is a girly-man kinda name…
Posted on 8/29/25 at 6:38 am to Insanochef69
NIL and this entire new generation is impossible to gauge how a kid is going to remain committed. Commitments mean absolutely nothing.

Used to be that players did this in the shadows. Few knew the motivation for players to flip but that’s changed.
There’s a new reality.
Players can now openly make decisions based on money. It’s all clear now. It’s money… and it’s pretty much always been money.
Now it’s open tho
