It has nothing to do with the state of the program. I’ve been through worse. I’m just tired, man. Game attendance requires a whole day commitment, mainly because I live in NO. The expense and the traffic don’t make much sense anymore. High definition TV is a wonderful thing. My youngest kid is a senior at LSU, but seems to have no interest in me hanging onto the tickets.

Wondering if there are others like me.

Cheers.

2007 to 20011 I attended every home game and numerous away games. After that it dropped down to 3 or 4 a season for a couple of years. Since 2018 I've attended 1 home game a year and I don't know if I'll be doing that anymore. All of my tailgate friends have kids and don't go as much now so I'd be showing up to hang out at the company tailgate. Like you said, it's a lot of work when I can have my patio TV on and the smoker rolling. Just got tired of the whole production of it

This guy put out an entire season ticket retirement thread.

Why do you think anybody here will give a crap that you aren't renewing your season tickets?

I am on year 7 and am over it. Coordinating a tailgate set-up is a colossal pain in the arse. Throw in lining up a babysitter for the toddler on top of that. If my wife didn’t like going to the games so much I would gladly drop our tickets. Id rather be at the camp.

I had season tickets from 1986-2015. Same exact thing for me, very hard to let them go after so many years. I got gameday lazy over the years and didn't feel like fricking with it any longer.

I attended every game home and away for over a decade. The political wokeness of Woodward the SJW has shown me better ways to spend my time and money.

Until the Marxist clowns are cleaned out of the program my time and money will go elsewhere.

I hear you man. I'm the same way. It's just a chore at this point and once you have years (or in your case decades) of memories it's nice to let go and just remove added stress. It is what it is at this point. It just gets more bland and more expensive. The trajectory of Death Valley and the gameday experience is year over year becoming a shell of what it was.

And BR sucks. I grew up there. I hate it now. frick all that.

For all you guys who stop attending, YOU are the reason for the change in atmosphere. People are fricking soft now.

Not specifically you, OP. 31 years is a good run. I'm talking about the 35 year old who is "burnt out."

Can't you read? Take a reading comprehension course dim wit. He asked if anyone else feels the way he does. Legitimate question.

100% Understand. After over 20 years, went from 12 to 8 to 4 seats then walked away about 5 years ago.
Paid parking, show up 5 hours before game and no spots. Traffic was horrible and beyond ridiculous with incompetent EBR Cops. South addition cut off airflow into our area of lower bowl. Commercialized trash flashing all game long. Tired of holding tickets to worthless games you could not give away. Tailgating areas disappeared. Game day experience went from a great fun event to a complete hassle and inconvenience. And the kids also had no interest in tickets.

You can wait until the new head coach is named before you have to decide to give them up. You might want to go one more year before you dump them just to see what this team looks like under a new staff.

Why are some of you acting like jerks to this guy?

I think he makes a good point. As we get older, it naturally gets harder to physically attend games. I'm pushing 60, so I don't get around like I did when I was 25. If we are tailgating too, it also gets harder to do all of the work necessary. With all of the conveniences available now like HD & 4K big screen tvs, it's very tempting to stay home and watch. I understand it.

Pluse LSU makes it harder to be able to enjoy the day with parking issues. It's not easy anymore.

I've had the same debate and I've had my season tickets since 1987. I don't really tailgate anymore, but I do have access to a close parking pass. I don't go to the nonconference cupcake games & I normally can give those to friends... for now, I'll still try to drive over from Houston for most games.

my family had tickets since the 50's and i grew up in the 70's and 80's going with my dad.

when i got back to Louisiana in 2006 me and a brother kept the last 2 tickets until 2013......and finally i just got tired. i pick and choose which games i want to go to now. but when i had tickets, i was there all day, for every game, and more than anything, the time\traffic to get out just made getting home at 2-3am not worth it anymore for the lesser games. so i bailed on mine, but still go to 2-3 games per years........although i haven't been since covid struck.
