Someone can’t see past his purple and gold glasses. Also not very knowledgeable about basketball.

Don't be an idiot and think CJ was as good as Curry.

again, we talking strictly a 3 point contest.
not a one on one game.

Curry has competed in 6 of them at all star break and only won 1 of those 6.
So let’s not act like he’s some infallible god here.

Ok another hypothetical... Who wins the one on one, pistol vs. Jackson?

Here is CJ with a similar video at 42. Makes about the same amount in a row.

Steph is a great player and they are similar. CJ played in a different NBA. He also had Tourettes, which was a challenge.

CJ would be a much bigger star if he played today.

Yes, CJ would have been a bigger star if he played today but Steph will probably go down as a top 20-25 player all-time when his career is over. Not taking anything away from CJ, but Steph is far and away the better player.

Chris Jackson in college was just unreal........ way better than Steph. But in the pros it’s Curry and it’s not even close.

3pt contest, Curry. FT contest, CJ. Pistol was before my time, but I'm so thankful I was able to see CJ play. He was the best college player I've ever seen in person. I never understood why he was selected for the Dunk contest though. That was never his thing.

Look at the name on the building.

Secondly, you do know Pete was 6’5-6’6” tall and would have schooled CJ. There is not a contest.

I saw both play multiple times live in college and the Pros. CJ/MAR killed the Rockets. What Pete did with people hanging on him and at a time without a 3 pt line was incredible. Nothing compares. And there were some really great defenders in those days plus if you went inside your arse was going to get laid out. Compare it to the NFL. Not all that many years ago, receivers would never go over the middle in fear of getting slaughtered. They have pussified the NFL game so these guys look like they are all that great, but in reality they are benefitting from rule changes. Same thing for the pussy QBs.

What is your metric? Shooting percentage? If that’s the case look at Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, Dream, etc. Are you talking about scorers, Jabbar?, James?, Mail Man?, MJ, Ice Man, Ray Allen, etc. are you taking about shooters like Reggie Miller, Larry Bird, Kobe, MJ?

If you are talking about end of game situations, give me Bird over all of them. Bird was a better shooter and was absolutely deadliest when it counted late in games. I’ll also take Reggie Miller, Ray Allen and Big Shot Bob Robert Horry in those situations.

Talk about something you know ans lay off the crack.

Curry has only won 1 three point competition in his career. OP’s not talking about who’s the best game shooter the OP said 3 point contest so there’s a lot of guys who can beat Curry and have beat Curry.

Chris Jackson is clearly one of the most gifted athletes to every play the game. Curry has to get his feet set, but CJ can hit a shot faster than you could blink. I understand Curry is one of the "hot" players in the NBA, but one-on-one and CJ in his prime could smoke Curry.

Curry clearly will have a better NBA career when it's all said and done, but both in their prime, and CJ stood a great chance of beating Curry in both contests. CJ was a bad boy when he was in his prime. Look at the film! He was draining 3s before Curry even knew what a BB was!

except he wasn’t. D Rose was better than him and Curry. Isiah Thomas was better than both. I would say he was gifted in what he did but in no way call him one of the most gifted to ever play the game. He isn’t in the Top 100 IMO. Dominque Wilkins was gifted. Dr J, Bird, MJ, Kobe, and on and on. What exactly was he “one of the most gifted” to ever play the game? You know why his numbers fell off? Because of his illness FORCED him to do everything at least twice like dribble a certain way. NBA used to play defense then like Glove Payton, Mad Max, MJ, etc. Once they figured it out, he was easy to defend. People talk about his religion and all, but he quit his meds bc he said they slowed him down.

I didn't say there wasn't. I just said Curry could beat CJ. Regardless, it's all speculation. They'll never have a competition so we'll never know.

Mother of God, where do you people live

In reality

Every one of those players listed are better 3 point shooters than Chris Jackson was.

Can you list the players on that list that are not better 3 point shooters than Chris Jackson, but cite the actual evidence/stats that support that claim?

I'll hang up and listen.

I'll cite my reasons for listing them as better 3 point shooters than Chris Jackson.

Chris was a career 35.4% 3 point shooter in the NBA, (which doesnt even rank in the Top 250 all-time), and his single season career high was 39.2%. In college he was a 37.2% 3 point shooter. Every player I listed has better numbers than those

quote:

1. Steph Curry:

6th all time in career 3 point %
Former 3 pt Contest Winner
In the NBA, a 43.4% Career shooter with a high of 45.5%.
In college, a 41.2% shooter.

Curry's career % is better than Chris single season best

So sorry, Chris was not better

quote:

2. Klay Thompson:

14th all time in career 3 point %
Former 3 pt Contest Winner
In the NBA, a 41.9% Career shooter with a high of 44.0%.
In college, a 39.0% shooter.

Klay's career % is better than Chris single season best

So sorry, Chris was not better

quote:

3. Larry Bird

148th all time in career 3 point %
3 time winner of the 3 pt Contest - tied for most all-time
In the NBA, a 37.6% Career shooter with a high of 42.7%.
In college, there was no 3 point line when he played

Add to that the amount of shite talking Larry would do to get in Chris head and Bird would take this in a cake walk

quote:

4. Craig Hodges

47th all time in career 3 point %
3 time winner of the 3 pt Contest - tied for most all-time
(Also finished 2nd twice, giving him 5 Top 2 finishes in the 3 pt contest, most all time)
Record for most consecutive shots made in NBA 3 pt contest - 19
In the NBA, a 40.0% Career shooter with a high of 49.1%.
In college, there was no 3 point line when he played

Hodges' career % is better than Chris single season best

So sorry, Chris was not better

quote:

5. Steve Kerr

NBA's all time leader in career 3 point %
Former 3 pt Contest Winner
In the NBA, a 45.4% Career shooter with a high of 52.4%.
In college, a 57.3% shooter

Sorry, but Chris is not a better 3 point shooter than the most accurate NBA 3 point shooter of all-time

quote:

6. Peja Stojakovic

43rd all time in career 3 point %
2 time winner of the 3 pt Contest
2 time runner-up of the 3 t contest
In the NBA, a 40.1% Career shooter with a high of 44.1%.
Didn't play college ball

Peja's career % is better than Chris single season best

So Chris was not better

quote:

7. Jeff Hornacek

34th all time in career 3 point %
2 time winner of the 3 point contest
In the NBA, a 40.3% Career shooter with a high of 47.8%.
In college, there was no 3 point line

Jeff's's career % is better than Chris single season best

So again, Chris was not better

quote:

8. Mark Price

36th all time in career 3 point %
2 time winner of 3 pt Contest
In the NBA, a 40.3% Career shooter with a high of 48.6%.
In college, there was no 3 point line

Price's career % is better than Chris single season best

Chris was not better than him

quote:

9. Jason Kapono

7th all time in career 3 point %
2 time winner of the 3 pt Contest
The last player to win the contest in back to back years
In the NBA, a 43.4% Career shooter with a high of 51.4%.
In college, was a 44.6% shooter

Sorry, but Kapono was better

quote:

10. Tim Legler

8th all time in career 3 point %
Former 3 pt Contest Winner
In the NBA, a 43.1% Career shooter with a high of 52.2%.
In college, a 45.6% shooter

Sorry, but Legs was the better 3 point shooter

quote:

11. J.J Redick

17th all time in career 3 point %
In the NBA, a 41.6% Career shooter with a high of 47.5%.
In college, a 40.6% shooter

Redick is clearly the better 3 point shooter

quote:

12. Steve Nash

11th all time in career 3 point %
In the NBA, a 42.3% Career shooter with a high of 47.0%.
In college, a 40.1% shooter

Give me Nash

quote:

13. Buddy Hield

22nd all time in career 3 point %
Current 3 pt Contest Winner
In the NBA, a 41.0% Career shooter with a high of 43.1%.
In college, a 39.0% shooter

Sorry, but Buddy Buckets takes this one

quote:

14. Devin Booker

Former 3 pt Contest Winner
In the NBA, a 35.4% Career shooter with a high of 38.3%.
In college, a 41.1% shooter

This one would be close, but I give the edge to Booker since he has actually won the contest before

quote:

15. Kyrie Irving

73rd all time in career 3 point %
The youngest 3 pt Contest winner ever
In the NBA, a 39.1% Career shooter with a high of 41.5%.
In college, a 46.2% shooter

Kyrie clearly is better from long range

quote:

16. Dirk Nowitzki

123rd all time in career 3 point %
Former 3 pt Contest Winner
In the NBA, a 38.0% Career shooter with a high of 42.1%.
Did not play college ball

Give me Dirk in a close one

quote:

17. Damian Lillard

173rd all time in career 3 point %
In the NBA, a 37.3% Career shooter with a high of 40.1%.
Dude even shoots over 42% from beyond 30 feet
In college, a 39.0% shooter

Big Game Dame takes it

quote:

18. Kyle Korver

10th all time in career 3 point %
In the NBA, a 42.9% Career shooter with a high of 53.6%.
Led the NBA in 3P% 4 different seasons
In college, a 45.3% shooter

Korver easily better

quote:

19. Joe Harris

12th all time in career 3 point %
Former 3 pt Contest Winner
In the NBA, a 42.6% Career shooter with a high of 47.4%.
In college, a 40.7% shooter

Joe FTW

quote:

20. Duncan Robinson

4th all time in career 3 point %
In the NBA, a 43.9% Career shooter with a high of 44.6%.
In college, a 41.9% shooter

Duncan is clearly the better 3 point shooter

Dame, Booker, and Dirk are really the only ones that Chris comes close to, but Dame and Dirk each have a 3 point title under their belts. And Dame is the best LONG distance shooter in the league. So I give all three of them the edge
