Bring on McNeese and Nichols to get on a roll.

I have no idea. Does that make you feel better about LSU having a historically bad start?

I don’t think I ever said this. I just did expect them to be setting records with how bad they are and getting run ruled in 3/4 SEC weekends.

This team isn’t good, it’s ok to admit it… Our coach literally is defeated in every presser. He’s trying literally everything he can and nothing is working. We have 1-2 pitchers you can count on and after that we are screwed. I’ve never seen an LSU team just get run ruled like this every single week.

It’s how they are losing that would concern anyone

We were supposed to be ranked in the top 5. This isnt LSU baseball. Jay needs to figure out something because 3-9 in SEC is not the standard for this team.

Yes, but then the final 5 series will be easier.

What in LSU’s play so far has made this even matter? If they continue to play like this there is no way they go 10-5 down the stretch.

Not many people expected LSU to be as good as last year so stop bringing that up, they did expect them to compete in all three games of a series and so far they haven’t.

I don’t think anyone was realistically expecting a repeat national championship from this team. The fact that they have lost every series, 3 of them in almost identical fashion, is what’s alarming. You can hear it in Johnson’s voice when he does his postgame pressers. They are not competing on a daily basis, and he really sounds like he doesn’t know how to fix it at this point. A complete overhaul of his staff and roster in the offseason might be the only solution to get it fixed

Not sure what there is to figure out. Pitchers that we were counting on have been bad and young hitters we were counting on have yet to show they can hit at this level. He’s the HC so the roster ultimately falls on his shoulders, but unless these guys figure it out, there’s no fixing it this season. Going to have to be fixed in the off season through the portal.

Stevenson? Money? Come on man. Crews and Skenes can’t be replaced. We knew that. Floyd, Morgan and Belleso were huge for us last year too. Despite being good, Jobert and Cooper are very much replaceable parts to a team.

Possible staff changes are coming. Yeskie has been worse than awful. There’s no toughness from anyone on this team. When things start to go wrong, no one fights to try and correct it. Maybe that starts with Jay, but his first two years didn’t present these types of problems.

To that point, Thatcher Hurd can’t throw strikes. Unless Yeskie or Jay changed his delivery or messed with his mechanics , that’s on Hurd and whatever is going on between his ears.

It’s time to focus on the future. Kucharek, Larson, Milam, Brown on the field. Get Johnson and Anderson innings. At least set yourself up with experience going into next year.

People like to ignore it because of the game against Florida, but Hurd wasn’t good for the majority of the year last year. He had a 13.81 ERA in SEC games last year. He has a 10.12 ERA in SEC games this year. So think about how bad he is this year, he was worse last year.

You are the real CLOWN...for ignoring reality! You can hope and wish all you want but there's no denying this team, at this time, is the worst team, in regard to their overall performance for decades.
Will it get better? I certainly hope so and the law of averages says it has to.
Our pitching was supposed to be our strength for this season but, man...were we sold some fool's gold on that one!

We brought on Southern after getting swept by Arky to get us on a roll, but what it got us was beat, and beaten again in a 3 game series, while getting 10 run ruled for the 3rd time in 4 weekends.

3-9

If it was 5-7 your point might be well taken.

But it's 3-9!!!!!

We have had so few 10 run rule games in the past nearly 40 yrs, but we have managed 3 in a very short span of time. This is an epically bad team.

The problem here, that nobody wants to talk about, is LSU fans have grown to be spoiled and out of touch with reality. We’ve over time become one of the most entitled fan bases in the sec. I blame tigerdroppings

No one was expecting a repeat national championship. Losing to ranked teams is not an issue. It is the way they are losing. Also losing to Southern at home and only getting 4 hits is very concerning. If this team makes a regional it lost likely will be a 3 seed. They won’t advance to a super. That is ok. It will determine how Jay Johnson will develop players and coach them going forward.
