With Spencer out, we definitely need someone to step up. M. Thornton and Mitchell need to have huge games considering there is literally no scoring help coming off the bench.

We all know his reputation as a defensive player, but it was not earned against smaller guards who are faster and quicker.
I think he has his hands full stopping Fortson and he will school Bass when he comes in. Stopping him from penetrating into the lane is my biggest concern.

Yeah, they got both UT and OU in Bud Walton. They are still averaging just under 16,000 per game despite horrid record.

This will be a very tough game for LSU.
Missing Spencer hurts alot in this one.
So far this season, LSU has shocked me with how well they have played on the road, so hopefully they continue to do so.
I just worry that this team will start hitting the wall soon, which may cause a few bumps in the road. Our main guys have played a ton of minutes this year so far.
Still, this should be a good tough game.

I see LSU losing in a tight hard fought battle. The final spread will be decieving as the game will be closer than the final score, but we lose nonetheless. I think not having Spencer will play a bigger role than most think. Also that place will be nuts and the players will respond.

Still living off of Nolan Richardson days in the mid 90's. Amazing. Must not be much to do in Fayettville.

Just when you start to underestimate this team, you know what they do...

Nah, common sense just tells you they will have one of "those" games sooner or later. Just hopefully not tonight.

all it takes is Arkansas coming out hot or LSU going into one of their dry spells to change the complexion of this game.
or for the officiating crew draw to be one that calls close and/or decides to become a factor which would be a disadvantage to lsu given the depth problems particularly with spencer's injury.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that T.Martin scores 15.

OU must have been freakin sleepwalking during this game. Where was it played? Bud Walton?
It was in Fayetteville but the thing to remember is this Ark. team has plenty of young talent. I believe OU and TX took them lightly and paid the price. If you watched the game in BR you saw them outscore LSU by 15 points in a ten minute span. They are capable of pulling the upset to be sure. Hope they don't.

That would be HUGE if Martin could contribute that much. IF he gets hot, he's certainly capable. Thanks to everyone for some good hoops talk before the big game.

So screwed up that Fortson is playing tonight.

It's definitely pretty odd that an "indefinite" suspension lasts for ONE game.

Posted on 2/18/09 at 4:43 pm to doc24
What station is 54 on NOLA directv? I have BR directv. I am still holding out hope for a miracle.
Posted on 2/18/09 at 4:48 pm to The Cable Guy
It is NOT on tv. 54 is the Raycom affiliate in NO. They are NOT showing the game despite what the guides say.
