You think harden will stay?
Really thought he would’ve been given more of a chance this season. Seemed to have a strong fall and had some hype. Even when Brown went down, it seemed like Harden would’ve been the guy but no we had anyone and everyone else get a legitimate shot and we ended up landing on Tanner Reaves. Don’t really understand the logic there looking to the future.

Sending guys out to pitch in summer ball would be a great change from previous years.
They get to work on stuff a little more on their own, maybe with the help of the summer pitching coach, and learn to get guys out.
Sitting in a lab all summer hearing the same two voices and not getting any other feedback or ideas on how to do things isn’t necessarily the best for development. Event if you think you have the best pitching coach in the country, not everyone responds to the same methods or communication styles.

In fact, it may have been johnsons best coaching job offensively. I dont believe another team could put 4 freshmen in their lineup midseason and perform that well in the sec

I don’t follow. Do you practice usury against our offensive core? Not sure how I feel about that.

Hopefully some decent summer leagues too, and not these lower levels. Maybe the message has gotten stale, not sure. Just know it looked like it wasnt even close after the first 3-4 top arms

I enjoy the follow up question to the unfortunate typo

Not one of these dudes are good defensively, Ruckert has a chance to be. We won last year with pitching and defense. I don’t think you can hit your way to a national title. We don’t have a ss or 3rd baseman on this roster outside of Milam. I really want Pearson to figure it out at first for lineup purposes.

Im wondering if switching arrambide to 1st is in the cards to keep both him and serna in the lineup and to keep things flexible. Not to mention his defense being….not great. And potentially keep the dh spot open for someone like pearson. I agree he isnt a great option at 3rd. I dont fully agree on ruckert, i think he can be excellent defensively. Not giving up on clauss either. But i think the portal will be needed to bring in some athleticism defensively, and on the bases. We need it

Pearson was supposed to make a big jump this year. He’s not a good player plain and simple. He’s not someone that you can count on in the SEC or to protect Arambide or Serna

Pearson shouldn’t play enough to hit 13. We need an actual 3rd baseman in 2027.

Lot of truth in this.

First off we played over half the season swinging for the fences instead of spraying the ball around the yard and you see what that got us. i think youre in the ballpark with some of these guys but i think Ruckert will shock some people, that kid has some pop for his size and i think he fills out more this offseason.
I think we have to find somewhere to put Serna in the field or some other team is going to throw money at him and offer him a starting spot outside of DH. Kid has ungodly amount of power and a pretty high ceiling

Catcher. His starting position is Catcher. Arrambide's starting position is also Catcher.
The level to which each one of them got beat up this year when they were on extended streaks of catching consecutive games is why they're going to be okay with splitting time behind the plate. There could possibly be some instances here or there of either one playing 1B, but very sparingly. Their offense is better when they aren't catching every single game.

I think Daniel Harden will be transferring out and will start for an SEC school.

Yeah I’m 50/50 on harden
Louisiana guy so might just love LSU but wouldn’t be surprised if he left

2 of the worst defensive catchers in last 25 years are our best power hitters in 2027. Please help them improve defensively or find a new position they can play. I have more hope for Serna as a catcher.
They weren’t great, but I feel like both were much better the last 6 weeks or so.
Our pitching has been bad.
Perhaps pitchers and catchers being a weak point. They both made each other look worse?

What a crazy rise that would be.

I see Braun being 15 or so.
I don’t think so. He may have it in him if he gets pull happy and works on launch angle. But he’s such a good hitter to all fields—he reminds me some of Tre—that I think he’s gonna just keep barreling balls and sparring them all over bet the field. He could hit .350 with a bunch of doubles, but he doesn’t have the power to hit bombs to CF or oppo. At least not consistently.
I’m pretty sure the few home runs he hit this year were all pulled over the RF wall. Now, if he becomes an even better and barrels up even more balls, of course he’ll hit a handful more than he did this year. But he’s not very big dude, and I don’t think hitting 15 home runs is in his game. He’d have to change his swing and approach by sacrificing some of the parts of his game that makes him
special.
Much better chance he leads the SEC in hitting next year than there is of hitting 15+ bombs. IMO. He’s gonna be a huge part of the offense next year. But he’ll be more of a top 2
in the lineup than a big hopper hitting in the middle. I could see him hitting 5th too, but I think Jay will want him getting more ABs.
Of course, a lot depends on who we land from
the portal. We’ve got to get at least one proven guy from that is almost guaranteed to hit 20+ assuming he stays healthy. Plug him in somewhere around Serna and Arambide,
then that’s a pretty solid 3 guys who can do a lot more of damage. I know Jay likes to get a little creative with his lineups already, and he was forced to this year, but we don’t a Curiel or Milam hitting in the 4-hole for a big part of the season.
If the only offensive stud that we can get happens to play 3rd, well, Pearson may be SOL. But in a perfect world, that dude plays SS or OF, and hopefully with another offseason, Pearson can lose some with to play a better 3B and take a big jump offensively himself. I don’t think .275 with 15+ bombs is out of the question for him. And we need some of those guys to lengthen the lineup.
