Shaffer was on AFR today and said he will graduate this Fall so he won’t join the team until December.

OK, good to know. I believe this will be his COVID year of eligibility, do we know if those will count toward the roster limit?

Pretty sure it will be a 40 man roster for 22 due to covid impact
I'm guessing they will gradually work back down to the 35 man roster to get rid of the logjam in each class beginning with incoming 2021 players

Johnson told the media today you can have a roster of 40 on the first game day as opposed to the usual 35. My assumption is real games will help him whittle it down when he has to

The crazy thing is that he's currently not the leading hitter.
Gavin Cross is hitting .467 (14 for 30) with a 1.404 OPS.

There is an audio broadcast on twitter spaces right now with Fontenot, Hilliard, and Dugas if anyone is interested in listening. It can be accessed through the LSU Baseball twitter account. I don't think there are recordings or replays of this. It's a relatively new thing.
