I'm going to have to start removing some links in the OP pretty soon. It's at the max character limit.

How many more guys do you think we're looking to add? I think 2 max.

Based on what Nap said we're still in the market for a catcher.
Based on Jason Kelly's twitter account, we are still in the market for arms for next season, regardless of source. In the last week he's started following portal, JC, and HS guys available now (or potentially available depending on LOI stuff).
I don't really have a good answer for you, but it seems we're doing an awful lot of shopping right now.

Just added another RHP so I think I’m not sure how many spots were still trying to add
Posted on 7/16/21 at 4:25 pm to ProjectP2294
I can't find many more spots when I do the math. Without naming names, I can see 5 guys on the roster (not currently in the portal) being processed, maybe Travinski takes a medical, maybe Collins takes a medical, redshirt some freshmen...and it's still pretty damn tight to add many more. Pretty good problem to have.

Johnson used the redshirt while at Arizona. It's not something we've seen around here in a while.
I think it can be useful for some guys. They have to buy in though. And part of that buy in is a development plan that clearly expresses why the redshirt year is beneficial to them.
I don't think our previous staff had a great handle on creating development plans for guys.

I believe that puts us at 46/40 now.

The numbers are going to be tricky, especially if we add more. The fall is going to be a free for all.
ETA: I have no problem with that at all. I feel for the players and coaches, though. Some tough decisions will have to be made.

Lot of fat still to trim

I had 5 guys that could easily be processed earlier when I looked at it, but Sanford wasn't one of those. I like Sanford.

We might be lower than 46, too. There are a couple COVID year guys that haven’t stated their intentions.

Sanford is a guy who would have benefitted from the change and probably could have been a serviceable SEC regular. But there’s several others he would be fighting for backup ABs with and they’re all younger with more upside.
In a perfect world I would add Priester then Washburn, Cooper, and Carmouche from the portal and call it a day.

Cranford… I don’t see him listed? Did he hit the portal?
