Not great walk numbers or era. Good strikeout numbers.

Similar to Shaffer. Looks like they’re taking fliers on some high upside guys. If they hit you may have a weekend starter, if not they can still be serviceable or better in the back of the pen.

I don’t know his competition in the cape… but 2 2/3 innings and 6 strikeouts sounds amazing lol

Whew! He season stats are rough. Kelly has his work cut out for him

I believe he is coming off of an injury (don't know if TJ)maybe now pitching back into form. In any case, I totally trust this coaching staff on evaluations!!!

From the university of San Francisco page “ Earned the series-clinching victory at Cal State Fullerton (March 1) with a quality start, throwing six innings and striking out eight while only walking one”
Fullerton doesn’t suck so there’s that

Tommy John makes sense. Was wondering why he had 10 starts but only 35ip

Someone tell me what the grind on Arnold is?
Posted on 7/8/21 at 9:18 am to Ignignot
Probably wants an opportunity to start, we are getting deep on the infield, and PM had him in his doghouse. And im sure also told Johnson his thoughts on arnold as well

Bump. Just trying to keep this on first page until summer ball is over.

Some anecdotal summer ball updates: Brant Smith is on a tear. Hitting very well in the South Florida League. He was considered to be probably the third best prospect on his HS team, so him showing out in this way bodes well for his future.
Jacob Hasty had a good start last week in the prospect league against one of the leagues better teams. He went 4.2 IP and gave up a couple runs. I like that he's being stretched out into a starter role as the only way for him to build his command and work on secondary pitches is with more innings. I don't think he'll be a starter at LSU, but that experience is invaluable from a development standpoint.
Ty Floyd is also getting good starter innings in Bristol in the Appy League. He's going deeper each time and improving his walk numbers each time out.
Paul Gervase is continuing to have strong relief outings and could be positioning himself for a high leverage role next spring.
