Close to half the schedule was good the other half was absolute garbage. We played no mid level SEC games we played 3 SEC opponents that combined for 3 wins.

The opponents record was 23-33, curse and scream, post your boyfriends favorite emojis all you like but that’s just a fact.

Only explanation is they straight up forgot, in which case they have no business writing this article.

2011 had a good defense. Their offense after October was awful. Didn’t even cross midfield until the 2nd half of the SEC championship I think and never in the title game.

Our fans pretend that was the toughest schedule ever besides 2019 when I think it ranks somewhere in the 20s on LSUs alltime SOS list.

You can always just look it up if you wanted
Let me google that for you...

Beat the Orange Bowl Champ
Beat the Rose Bowl Champ
Beat the National Champ at their home stadium
Beat the SEC East champion in their home state
Beat the third ranked team at the end of the regular season.
I'd venture to say that doesn't happen very often.
Could care less if Ole Miss and Miss State were terrible.
Which is harder to go undefeated through - beating four teams all ranked in the 50s, or beating four teams where two of the four are in the top five and two ranked 100 and 101. The average rank of the team you beat would be in the 50s either way. But clearly one is much much tougher to go undefeated through.

State, Auburn & Florida all played in bowl games
What 3 SEC opponents combined for 3 wins? I don’t think you are looking at the right schedule & year
Ole miss went 2-10, and the rest at least had 5 wins

quote:you can't just cite overall points - you need to provide context. Honey Badger, and that defense, had a lot of defensive TDs and turnovers that gave us short fields.
LSU scored 40+ points 8 times in the regular season and also in the SECCG. They scored in the 30s 2 times. They scored less than 10 2 times (both games against Alabama).
So just noting total points scored doesn't always tell the true story of an offense.

You're failing at that math thing again. If you're using teams outside the division to make your case (which is clown shite btw) the actual stat is 3 team combined for 2 SEC wins. Ole Miss 0 Tenn 0 and pick one of the 2 win teams.
If you stay in the division, our bottom 3 teams combined for 6 SEC wins.
The weak division put 5 teams in bowl games and won all the games except the one were it played itself btw.

Tennessee, State and Ole Miss.

f memory serves, in 2011 we beat the following teams:
Big East champ at their stadium
Pac 10 champ on a neutral field
The SECE champ in their home state
The NC at their stadium
We went undefeated in the SEC
That 2011 team was a great team stocked with top nfl talent
Not only that, but...
Big East champ at their stadium - High powered spread offense with Geno Smith
Pac 10 champ on a neutral field - High powered spread with fastest team ever in the history of teams
The SECE champ in their home state - pro style offense, stud defense
The NC at their stadium - pro style offense, super stud defense
That 2011 team played and conquered every diverse type of team... speed, spread, power.. didn't matter.

Until Jordan Jefferson was let back on the team, that 2011 offense was actually pretty good. Go back and watch highlights from the West Virginia game. Jarrett Lee was playing and then Les decided to let JJ back on the team and it probably fricked with Lee’s head. After that, Lee never looked totally comfortable because he knew Miles had Jefferson waiting to come in the minute he messed up.
This is the total offense before Jefferson;
Vs Oregon 273 yards 3.9 yards per play
Vs NWST 400 yards 6.06 ypp
Vs MsSt 361 yards 5.55 ypp
Vs WVU 366 yards 5.3 ypp
Vs UK 348 yards 5.6 ypp
With Jefferson splitting time
Vs UF 453 yards 7.19 ypp
Vs UT 383 yards 5.55 ypp
Vs Auburn 393 yards 6.66 ypp
Vs Bama 239 yards 4.12 ypp
With Jefferson by himself
Vs W Kentucky 474 yards 8.03 ypp
Vs Ole Miss 458 yards 7.9 ypp
Vs Arkansas 494 yards 6.6 ypp
Vs UGA 237 yards 4.94 ypp
This clearly shows the difference in the offense as a whole when Jefferson was playing. It was more diverse, it was more open, they hit bigger plays. The problem was that we could not fool Bama, and Jeff was just horrible passing vs UGA.
That 2011 LSU team should have been playing Oklahoma St had not that tragedy happened right before that one game. LSU should be looking at 4 NCs since 2003.

The SEC west was arguably the best division in football in 2011. Actual fact.

Make an actual case against it. We both know why you keep avoiding that.
