My recollection is that Jordan Farmar, Luc Mbah a Moute and Aaron Afflalo ran roughshod over our guys.

So bad I left the sports bar I was watching at in Richardson, Texas halfway through the second half.

Island boy, you need to find something to do with your free time. That’s 19 years ago. Why is this still bothering you?

they made the game super ugly, physical, and slow... made us play half court. really took us out of our element and we could never get any momentum going.

They were loaded and just as good on D as we were which was our advantage vs most teams. Our offense wasn’t very good and theirs was so it was lopsided.

Outcoached.

You guys crack me up. Ok UCLA beat us. We beat two more talented teams to make it to the final 4. I guess we outcoached Probably the best coach in recent history when we beat Mike Krzyzewski . We also beat Texas that year in 2006.

Wow, How did we do that with a Horrible coach?:"

No one said John Brady was a "horrible" coach. It's possible to get out gameplanned and out situationally coached by an even better person, which is partly what happened. As an LSU football fan, that should be easy enough for you to digest.

I was at the game in Indy and our point guard looked like a Junior High player against UCLA. We couldn't do anything right and just got the shite kicked out of us. It was embarrassing. Luckily for me I sold my Finals tickets for stupid money.

If we're being honest, LSU overachieved during the postseason

Not at all.

That year was the first season I became aware of the KenPom ratings. Heading into the NCAA Tournament I read an article listing the 12 teams that history showed had the right formula to win the National Championship. I think it was at that time a top 20 defense and top 40 offense (in terms of efficiency). To my complete surprise, LSU was one of the 12 teams. I blew it off until LSU beat Duke...then Texas.

That LSU team was a really good team. They didn't significantly overachieve. They were a true championship contender from day one of the postseason. We just didn't know it.

They're defense shut us down and they completely dominated us only to turn around two nights later and have the same thing done to them by Florida

Went to an ESPN sports bar in Anaheim for that game. It was not much fun to be there that night.

I remember in the week leading up to the Final Four that Jay Bilas picked LSU to beat UF for the NC. I thought, holy shite, this might happen.

Literally run out of the gym. UCLA played slow all year and then pressed the action and it stunned lsu. I went to Atlanta for the sweet 16. Loved beating duke. Their basketball fans are as bad as bama football fans.

I remember our offense was nothing special that year.
Darrell Mitchell hitting 3's,

Tyrus or Tasmin getting put backs on missed baskets

Big Baby getting fed and using his elite footwork to get easy buckets

But almost no ability to create open shots consistently as a team

yes and no

George Mason was the Cinderella story that everyone loved

LSU was the team that the experts jumped on as their favorites to actually win it all though

Digger Phelps was especially hyped up on the LSU train
