Didn’t Jay go after him last year? I thought I remember K Rogers saying he was a candidate. Maybe he just was under consideration.

Yes and No. Early on he was getting shite for calling predictable pitches. Later in the season, most fans realized it was because our pitchers only have two pitches.
So at the end of the season Kelly came away looking like he did a helluva job with what he had.
