I was on the east side. I was a boy scout usher. A couple of older men had huge bags of oranges. We were slinging them late in the game. The fog made it surreal.

I consider that game as the pinnacle of my time in the student section.

I was also in the student section, lower sideline in front of the cheerleaders. I loved the scoreboard message "ET Phones Home" after Eric Martin's TD catch. The fog rolling over the upper deck onto the field was an awesome sight.

I was there! It still cracks me up that they let all those people (mostly students) into the game carrying huge bags of oranges.

I was there in TGBFTL. Bass Drum.......I did the PRE-GAME Bass Drum beat from 78-82.

This game was one of my Top 3 GBFTL games.

* 1979 USC. 17-12 loss, but the atmosphere and game tension was incredible and unmatched.

* 1982 Florida State. 55-21 win. Oranges and Fog. (At half-time, Semjase plays solo Tonal Bass Drum feature on "Big Noise from Winnetka.")

* 1982 Alabama at Legion Field in Birmingham. 21-10 win. We finally beat Alabama and Bear Bryant.

Played in two of those games . First time I wore a helmet on the sidelines and the Bear retired after the Lsu game . Hated playing in Birmingham .

As the game progressed and the Tigers blew it open. It just got worse and worse.

However, I think it was the last time we beat FSU

That 1982 offense was so good. Because modern offenses are so prolific now (even Miles-era offenses in comparison to the 1970s and 1980s style offenses) I feel like we as a fanbase overlook some of the offenses LSU had back then.

In 1982, Risher was the quarterback, Eric Martin was the receiver, Gary James and Dalton Hilliard were running backs, And Jeff Wickersham was the backup quarterback.

8-3-1 that season. A lot of heartbreaking finishes to games. A tie vs Tennesee in Tiger Stadium , 3-point loss to Moo State at Starkville , an inexplicable loss to a bad Tulane team in Tiger Stadium , and a gut-wrenching loss to Nebraska in a bowl game.

I was at the Nebraska game in Miami. They were the "old" Cornhuskers then and probably had the best team in the nation. We almost beat them and stood toe-to-toe with them the whole game.

Was in the student section that game. Used syringes to infuse the oranges with vodka. Sucked the cocktail out during the game then through the oranges later. Fog was reminiscent of the angel of death in the movie The Ten Commandments the way it came in over the top of the stadium. Definitely top 5 games ever at TS.

After the game, while walking to my truck, I found my older brother asleep leaning on a telephone pole. Drunk as hell

Thx for that.

Sitting in the SEZ watching the fog slowly pour over the north end was unforgettable. Add in the revenge on Bowden and raining oranges and you get a Tiger Stadium classic.
