LSU-38, Ohio State-24. LSU scored 31 straight points after falling behind, 10-0. Flynn with four TD passes and Hester with a rushing TD.

Hard to believe that was 16 years ago. I still love CFB now but it’s not the same. The 2000s up until 1/9/12 were so awesome for CFB.

Love the pre 2009 uniforms. So classic. That is LSU. Perfect tiger head on the helmets and somehow I just like not having LSU on the chest above the numbers. Cleaner and instantly identifiable anyway.

I think Malcolm Jenkins went the entire season without giving up a TD and then in the title game LaFell who had the dropsies all year got one on him.

The blocked FG and that strip sack on Boeckman were awesome plays. I don't think Ricky Jean-Francois did anything of particular note before or after that game but for that one night he was an unstoppable animal.

Was there that night with my dad and his best buddy who was a buckeye fan. Great night and great weekend for me as a sophomore in HS. Hard to believe 16 years ago. Wow.

That was a crazyass season. Missouri and West Virginia getting upset for LSU to sneak in the championship game. The whole Miles to Michigan fiasco. Mass chaos.

Wasn’t he academically ineligible for the fall semester? Pretty sure that was his first game of the season.

And he was always pretty solid, just not as flashy as the guys that came before him like Spears, Lavalais, Williams, and Dorsey.

That was the wildest season and awesome CG

I have a friend from Ohio State. He was there at the game and with the Alumni suite they had in the stadium. He invited me and my son's to come visit at halftime. He was going to intro us to Archie Griffen. Told him we'd all be wearing LSU gear. "Nah, not a problem."

About 30 seconds before the end of the half, he texted me, "Don't come. Not a good time for me to bring in LSU fans."

Down 10-0 LSU fumbled a punt, but recovered it. Then blew the doors open.

Tried to get a guy at work to bet me LSU would be in after those teams would lose. He was like no way in hell ever if they lose will lsu jump 7 to ranked 2.

Yeah we need to get rid of the gay little “LSU” on the jersey

And switch to a gray facemask

I’ll never forget when a female co worker that grew up in New Orleans threw away all her 1 year old sons LSU stuff that night of the game. The next day after game, everyone of the office staff wore LSU stuff and ragged her all day.

No doubt. The 90s and 00s was cfb at it's finest. Players stayed at their schools for three or four years so you could keep up with everybody. The rivalries were so intense back then. It just seemed to mean more. It mattered. Going to a New Year's Six bowl mattered. Lol now the Rose Bowl is a friggin semifinal game. Couldn't tell you who has won it the past few years.

I bet my neighbor $100 lsu would be down early by double digits and win by double digits. That team was special when challenged. I felt like Nostradamus.

Wasn't very long after Katrina and the City of New Orleans was in need of some good tidings. However there were many LSU fans spewing horrible racist comments on YouTube around the Dome...Sad
