Feels great to be in this spot at this point in the season.

Still got Auburn, SCarolina and A&M on the schedule too.
That’s a pretty good base to get 6-9 of those wins.

The bottom of the league is so bad this year, probably going to have 4-5 teams north of 20 wins, that's not going to be an automatic national seed like years past

will be important to win Tenn or Ark series because Texas already has the head to head over LSU and they will be vying for national seed

Oh man would I love to sweep Carolina at home. Make Paul retire AGAIN

The bottom of the league is not bad. Missouri is bad. MS State, Florida, & A&M are all 1-8 and can beat anybody any night. South Carolina is probably bad too but they still have some guys.

So just have to go 10-10 the rest of the way

yeah, A&M could have more players drafted over LSU and Tenn
Florida has had injuries
MSU pitcher Kohn gives them a chance to win the game he pitches
this conference can humble even the best teams, look at LSU last year how they started out
even Mizzou had a chance to beat LSU in at least two of the games, they can hit

18 wins is no longer a lock in a 16 team SEC with ~10 top 15 teams.

Taking a look at the SEC schedule going forward
Fri, Apr 11 @ Auburn
Sat, Apr 12 @ Auburn
Sun, Apr 13 @ Auburn
Thu, Apr 17 vs Alabama
Fri, Apr 18 vs Alabama
Sat, Apr 19 vs Alabama
Fri, Apr 25 vs Tennessee
Sat, Apr 26 vs Tennessee
Sun, Apr 27 vs Tennessee
Fri, May 2 @ Texas A&M
Sat, May 3 @ Texas A&M
Sun, May 4 @ Texas A&M
Fri, May 9 vs Arkansas
Sat, May 10 vs Arkansas
Sun, May 11 vs Arkansas
Thu, May 15 @ South Carolina
Fri, May 16 @ South Carolina
Sat, May 17 @ South Carolina
So we have our tougher series at the Box and our easiest away.
We have Auburn(4-5), aTm(1-8), and South Carolina(1-8) away.
We have Alabama(6-3), Tennessee(8-1), and Arkansas(8-1) at the Box.
I think it is reasonable to expect LSU to have 13 wins before we see Temnner at the Box on the 25th and not unreasonable to think that number could have 14 or even 15 wins if we can sweep at Okie. Now it is baseball, so even reasonable expectations have a +/- factor.
I am on the verge of being irrationally excited about the season, the emotional crash will be severe if it comes

With how we’re performing year to date (elite), it’s about challenging for an SEC championship. Anything other than a top 8 seed would be a disappointment given one of our best ever starts to a season at this point.

I think you’re juuuuust a little outside. We can win ten games and not win a series and that’s out the window.

18-12 is a top 5 record in the SEC every year, would definitely get us a top 8 seed

You'll need 20 this year, barring some shake-up at the bottom of the league. Too many teams are compiling gaudy records.
LSU is 8-2, and has four teams with a higher win % above them and that won't change this weekend.
Arkansas 8-1: They will host Mizzou this weekend. They will be 11-1 at the end of the weekend.
UGA 8-1: In Austin this weekend. Probably need the Dawgs to take this series since Texas will have the head-to-head over LSU.
Texas 8-1: see above
Tenn 8-1: Hosting A&M. It's looking like a sweep, although A&M seems to have found a bit of offense, so maybe they could steal one.

Oops I stand corrected. Still it ain’t a given.

Man, the amount of bitching that would go on would be unbearable.
Hell, we are 28-3 and some people around here want the pitching coach and head coach fired.
I can’t imagine if we were to go 10-10 what it would be like.

Warren Nolan will give you a different outcome each time you enter the site. The "predicted RPI" feature typically has 5 SEC teams at 20+ wins which won't happen.

20 should do it. Not 18.
