After the AZ Michigan game they talked about the last time AZ lost on the road as the number 1 ranked team. Low and behold it was to us in 2002. After remembering this great game I looked for a while to find a video but nothing. Would love to see it if somebody has a link

I was there. I think we stormed the court and Brady sported the Santa hat.

Yep. Great atmosphere that year. I remember ditching physics class on a regular basis to wait in line.

Different game. You're talking about the game in January 2000 when Arizona was #3 and Richard Jefferson was hurt and LSU won by 20ish. LSU had been under the radar before that game, though they had beaten #10 Oklahoma State at the Sugar Bowl Classic a month earlier.

The game mentioned in the OP was in December 2002, and LSU won by a point.

I'm impressed you got the year right. 2003 was the late season run/loss to Purdue. We beat Arizona in dec of 2002 that season right before Christmas. Dickie V put a Santa hat on John Brady after the game.

Was at that game as an eight year old, it was amazing to witness such an event at an early age

Luke Walton did not play that game. Pretty sure he stayed in Arizona to attend graduation.

That Arizona team had some quality guys though: Will Bynum, Andre Igoudala, Saleem Stoudamire, and Channing Frye.

My buddy almost got his arse beat by an ESPN camera man because he grabbed the camera and stuck it in his face.

I lifted Mike The Tiger on my shoulders and will never forget how soaked that costume was with sweat and how bad that guy smelled.

It is the right game, I was there as well and remember Jabari's dunk very clearly. It was last play of the first half and we went ballistic. Once of the greatest dunks by a big man I've ever seen live.

No dude, I was at the game you are talking about and that was LSU vs Arizona 2000. Only game I went to that year. We stormed the court, which was the first time I ever saw it done at LSU. LSU was up 20 or close to it at the half. Place was crazy when he did the fake before half. That is a game I wish I had on tape. Arizona had been #1 like the week before or something and they dropped down inside the top 5.

Read the thread. The Jabari dunk you've linked occurred against a Top 5 Arizona team in 2000 that LSU destroyed. That's the Sweet 16 year with Jabari, Stromile, Roland, et al.

The OP was referring to the game right before Christmas in 2002 when LSU eeked out the 1 point win against #1 Arizona. They blew it in the 8/9 game against Purdue.

Different games versus the same team, two years apart.
