Fisher is gonna get a raise out of this. good move for him. we'll be left high and dry.

He just got a raise at the end of 2014. His interest in LSU (if there is interest) is not about a raise. He has a $44MM contract right now. I honestly don't think he likes it there and he has a bad relationship with the FSU administration. He likes Baton Rouge and LSU. I think if LSU is in the $5.5MM range as he is now, then he'll listen.

I think he'd be an upgrade offensively, but there's several other possible options that may not cost as much and have the same positive effect on our program. Either way, we will bring in someone with an offense better suited for today's college game. The pro-style game can work, but it has to be tweaked in the same fashion as Kiffen has done at Bama. If Kiffen wasn't such a headcase, he's be the perfect candidate. No one can doubt his ability as an OC though...he's pretty damn good. Note: I didn't say bring Kiffen in.

I think you're right; but I don't think money is an issue.

If they are willing to pay Miles off; they aren't looking for a cheaper option to make it work.

Jimbo runs too close to a pro style like Les.

Much rather Gary Patterson with a hybrid spred that likes to run. Fournette used like he did LaDainian Tomlinson.

I don't believe for a second they're looking to get a less expensive option. I think they're looking for the best option and if the option comes in for less money, then so be it. With that said, I think they'd be willing to pay between $6MM and $7MM a year for "their guy".

I see Jimbo's agent is doin work to get him a raise.

This!

If he has sincere interest in returning to LSU, they probably would not mention his name publicly - however, there were a lot of unsubstantiated reports of Saban leaving the Dolphins for Bama before the deal was done too - so, who knows...

Sums up the rant rather nicely. We know everything and nothing.

LSU already HAS a national championship winning coach at the helm and the entire fan base wants him fired!

Am I the only one not that fired up about Jimbo???

When it actually begins, you may have a lot more people on board. Many of us don't trust Alleva and the BOS with this.

Besides, LSU should never put themselves in a position as a program to be used as a bargaining chip for coaches to gain more security in staying where they are. Herman needs to be strongly considered if they are really serious about moving on.

You are aware Patterson is a defensive minded coach and he wasn't the head coach at TCU when LT played there huh?
