Let me start this by saying it's year 1 and it was a 1 point loss in the road in overtime to a middle of the road SEC team. This is an aggravating loss, not a devastating one.

The offensive penalties are infuriating, especially the men in motion ones. Wasn't there like 4 in the first quarter? How do we not know how to get set?

Substituting and taking delay of game penalties on 4th down after a timeout.

The offensive line blocking scheme is honestly confusing. I don't understand how we miss so many defenders and allow inside leverage and rush. You protect from inside out, you have to, we allow inside rushers and our oline don't pick up anyone. I don't know if we're not identifying sets or just don't know what to do but it's infuriating.

The last play of the game, you just don't have a spy at all on the QB inside the 3. that's just amazing. It was the easiest 2 pt conversion ever.

Special teams guys not playing their lanes, jogging to the ball and dogshit tackling giving up a return for TD

The defense struggling to get set. I don't know if this is missing Weeks or what but we're struggling to even get into position before the play starts.

Costly, dumb turnovers. The leavitt jump pass fumble didn't directly result in points but it absolutely gave them more time at the end.

Deciding to go then not go on 4th and 1.

i don't expect Lane to win every game and it's year 1. i do think it's a process and it takes time to get it right.

With that said this is a poorly coached team right now. The laissez faire attitude works when your winning but lets see how the fans like it when your walking down victory hill with rappers wearing t shirts and shorts if you go 7-5.

Need to clean it up fast and stop being a pussy, if you have 4th and 1 go win the game.

You don’t get a year 1 excuse anymore with NIL and portal. Will Stein is in year 1 and just beat LSU with a roster that probably cost half. Lane is an overrated choke artist.

They couldn’t get a yard with that crummy Oline play.

That is stupid. It’s not like old times where you have to wait a few years to build but year 1 with this schedule is something much different than the 1 year turnaround that Indiana did with a large portal class.

When you have to take 50 guys because the team was dog shite, you are going to have to spread spending and you aren’t going to plug every hole.

Lane will build a program here, Bk had just drove us in the ditch and flipped the car over.

Again this game was played fundamentally poor. First half tackling was embarrassing. The opponent was more physical.

Indiana didn’t do a one year turnaround. The year before they won the natty Indiana finished 11-2 and ranked #10 in both major polls.

It really was a total and complete team effort in slopiness. Offense, defense, special teams, OC, DC - everyone just seemed out of sync and out of sorts and ultimately when you get a full and total fail like that the guy at the top has to answer for that.

I got several texts last night blasting Blake Baker and while he certainly deserves some shade for that defensive performance. But it also seemed like they were scapegoating him because they were not ready to critique the head man.

I have no issue in that regard. Lane absolutely has significant responsibility in this loss. Again, as with Ole Miss we had some struggles inside 10 ending up with 2 field goals. There's every bit as many things to nitpick the offense on as with the defense. 3 points in our first 3 possessions of the second half - when we were finally getting some defensive stops we quit scoring on offense.

I have no idea what the future holds but we've already lost two games to teams that honestly I think we should have beaten. That's disappointing.

And 90% of fans were pretty o.k. with keeping Baker before the season and now of course they are all telling me they never wanted to keep him and he's the problem. Convenient. it's a total team fail guys.

The problem a lot of people don’t get is you can’t fix disciple issues with talent. It’s about character and Lane is sorely lacking in that department.

LSU lost because of undisciplined play. First play of the game - no gap discipline and Cooley in lala land results in effectively 7 points. Happened over and over again for 4 quarters with pre-snap penalties and missed assignments in all three phases. We lost even though we had better talent on the field.

That’s what you get with leaders like Lane Kiffen. Too busy trying to be clever and happy to disregard the fundamentals in the process. Welcome to the FAFO portion of the programming.

We thought we got 60 great players, we didn't. By SEC standards this is a pretty average bunch. Our QB is rated around 40. That doesn't win much in the SEC.

This was an ugly arse game. They had penalties and boneheaded plays on just about every drive. You can’t play that way and expect to win, and yet they still almost did.

We played to not lose and deservingly lost. You have to go for it on 4th and 1 there. The playcalling prior to that 4th and 1 was soft as well. We were fortunate to be ahead with the 2 missed field goals. How many times do coaches have to learn this lesson.
Also, the 2 point conversion was so obvious as soon as they spread the field like that. How did no player recognize what was about to happen.
