Less than you would think. OL pickings in the portal are slim. It’s very hard to build that unit without high school recruiting

Did all of their NIL deals get cancelled?
I think their NIL were reduced and told they should explore better deals. Their NIL's were probably based upon last year's performance?

He was soft as charmin on them. That’s why they liked him. But just like used charmin, his coaching stunk and wasn’t going to put money in their pockets but were blinded by their loyalty to a guy that was doing them a disservice.

logic
With this many players, there's little logic applied. It's more like the wild west. When you compare it to something like say.. the NFL, there's only 2208 spots (32 teams, 53 active players/16 practice squad players) and a limited amount of agents and GM's making deals. But only 600-750 unrestricted free agents at a time.
Now with college, there's tens of thousands of kids moving around. It's complete chaos.
Logic is tough to come by when there's this crazy amount of money flowing, correspondence, tampering, etc.

Calloway, Curne, Echols, Chester, Adams, Mubenga, and Ory.
Ory-Tenn
Curne-Ole Piss
Echols- TXAm
Adams- TxAm
Calloway, Chester, and Mubenga left.... They may all end of being all world somewhere else but they never really showed much here so it is what it is. Trust Lane and the process

You want guys that want to be here
Plus fair pay
The days of program loyalty are gone with very few exceptions
Kirby said it best “we want kids that want to work”

Brad Davis was very well liked even if his coaching wasn't up to par.
Ohh I bet they loved him. Those lazy lineman have been riding the gravy train with Davis in charge . No work put in whatsoever! I would love him too if the school paid me NIL and I could take it easy all year

Curne and Adams are the ones I would’ve definitely liked to keep. Word is Curne is kind of a knucklehead and is tweeting that lsu wasn’t entering the portal turned them off from fighting to keep him. In reality, Curne messed up his own paperwork which was the reason for the slight delay lol.
Not totally sure on why adams left. Haven’t heard much.
The staff has fought to keep Moore and Davis which should definitely tell you something on Davis’s potential.

This is under rated imho. When healthy he was one of the bright spots and center is usually a very important assignment along oline (Usually responsible for pre snap adjustments ie blitzing identifying and protection adjustments). Most centers, especially at the next level are very cerebral and require high football IQ

They got away with egregious holding all night long.

Here is your logic. You have a job and another business calls you and offers you double the money to go work for them.. Are you really stopping to think about who your manager/supervisor/direct report is or are you taking double your salary?
Everyone of us is gone. Now, for some, it is just the agent telling them they can get more $$$ or, saying "let's go tell your boss we got a bigger offer and see if they match it".

Two words. Brad Davis. He was petty asf on the way out. He’s been posting on Twitter lately multiple posts about his o line from 2023 and 2024 as finalists for the Joe Moore award. He feels we ruined his reputation and ability to get a future job by pinning the failure of this year’s offense mostly on him. He told multiple players to leave and been working to make it harder for us to get traction with portal kids he personally recruited.

Vaulted? I believe the word you are looking for is vaunted.
vaunted

I am not saying that we didn’t have some talented players on that line because most of them were highly rated coming out of high school. I will say that that was the most underperforming line I have ever seen at LSU and I have been watching for a long time.

It’s just the way college football is now. It’s no longer about loyalty. It’s all about trying to milk out as much money as they can. Some might return. Some may be told they’re getting replaced.

Best explanation I have heard.
