They have JR Belton, Sherman Wilson, Jordan Arcement so I guess that they're happy with the staff they have.

Most of these men appear to be team oriented and dedicated to their craft. There are not many drama guys who act entitled. This coaching staff looks for fit as well as talent

Yep, this is what I read, how big a loss with our current/potential commits at LB Capt?

I honestly thought he would have been decommitted a few months ago.

I don’t think the Texas school’s are going to let Colin Simmons just leave state. And being we don’t get into bidding wars, I don’t see us landing him. It was always going to be swimming upstream to land a top 5 class this year. I see the class ending up somewhere between 8-12 this year. Not bad, but not elite either.

I'm sure they would feel better having another guy, particularly one that has played at the college level.

How would that even work, though? What experienced starter would want to come in to sit behind nuss for a year and then compete with JR year Rickie Collins and SO year Colin Hurley for the starting spot? Nobody is going to do that unless they're thinking they have a better than 50/50 shot of winning the job in year 2 (and that's at absolute minimum). And any QB who both (1) had starting experience already and (2) showed enough promise to project as the likely starter over those guys in year 2 is unquestionably going to have power 5 offers to come in and start right away. Also consider that the guy will almost certainly have had to have been the starter as a freshman--otherwise his absolute best case scenario would be participating in a strong 3-way competition for a chance at starting for a single season. And if the guy was good as a freshman starter, the programs offering him will be VERY good.

Imo, we'd be far more likely to just wait until the following year and THEN take a guy to be the starter if we dont think JR year Collins or SO year Hurley are ready.

I’m pretty sure the Juco transfer Gilbreath is 2023.

One similar to Max Johnson, Tyler Buchner, or Spencer Sanders. QB's are on the move constantly looking for a better situation or have a previous relationship with a coach.

Does anyone have any idea about the possibility of Ethan Calloway being part of the class? Four-star offensive tackle from North Carolina whi is set to visit this month and has a commitment date June 30th.

He's being recruited by the likes of Penn State, Georgia, Tennessee and others. On3 has him favorite LSU, but just at 20%. I don't have great faith in the On3 predictor until it's more like 85%. Not even sure it matters at all until then.

That is a great class, however, we need 1 more beast of a DL (5 total) and replace one of the OL with a better OT (5 total), and make sure we get Colin Simmons at EDGE. 2025 will be good for RB, but I might take another one in 2024. That is all

Everything else we normally get at WR, DB, LB, and recently QB. Filling up the trenches again these next 2 classes, with all the talent we are getting at other positions, we will be on par with Georgia, Bama and Ohio State.

For the 2025 class we need 5 solid players each on both DL and OL. Then we will be set in the trenches. Then we need another great QB like Underwood!!!

If we get all those trenches in 24-25, plus Simmons at EDGE in 24, and get Underwood at QB in 25, we will win 2 titles in 5 years (26 and 28). The even years are coming up!

However, we may be in the running this year or for sure 2024, so 2-3 titles in the next 6 years. If Underwood comes, maybe pull a Georgia and 2 in a row, and that would be in 26-27.

Yep. Saw that one coming right after Weston. They're coming for Ory Williams as well.

Getting outrecruited by A&M of all schools is unacceptable with them coming off the season they had last year.

Remember the last time they had a big recruiting class and half of them transferred out after a year? Not worried about it...

I think on the field will play a good role in this. It's still pretty early on.

That’s their problem. I’m withholding judgment on this class until early signing day, but things need to pick up on our end with a lot of kids committing before their senior year. We need to land some big fish, particularly on the lines of scrimmage to close.
