NCAA has to be pissed with Wade. They gonna put us in the bracket of death as a shitty seed if we make the NCAA tournament

The case is different also. Luis signed a professional contract I believe but has never played in the NBA. IMO, this is less like the Trinidad situation and more like the players that Wade hopes to get from the European league teams. Obviously, those guys have been professionals also but not in the NBA and still have college eligibility if you use the term loosely.

You mean for doing the same exact thing the rest of the country is doing when a player they want gets ruled ineligible by the NCAA? Kinda funny how they only get pissed at LSU for doing it

Maybe i missed this but has Luis asked for an additional year from the NCAA and it was denied? Not an attorney nor do i understand legalese but wouldn't something negatively have to have been ruled against him for him to pursue an injunction?

Given the history of Louisiana politics, what are the odds that we don't have this case in front of the exact judge we want for a positive ruling?
Isn't it highly likely that this dude owes Landry a favor? Maybe an appointment somewhere better for his brother, since this judge is retiring? Are all judges elected in Louisiana? I truly don't know. How about Louisiana Supreme Court judges? Does Landry appoint those?
Landry for whatever reason seem to be all aboard team LSU. And i bet he usually gets what he wants through the judicial system.

I'm fairly certain that's the case... But doing more research it looks like Ronald (the brother we got) handles the bulk of civil cases...I think it'll work out for the good guys

The bar is different for international leagues.

So it's basically a "how much did you get paid" rule.
Luis is not an international player, though. The thing that is problematic for RJ Luis, and why he could very well lose this in the long run, is the following.

Wondering if the TRO yesterday for Pyburn and others has any bearing on this case? Considering those some of those guys also signed pro contracts and want to go back to school

I think it does, as it is addressing guys who specifically signed with the NFL, and are in camp/playing preseason games.

There's a thread that is supposed to be on basketball recruits, but there's zero information and 150+ pages of bitching and arguing. It needs to be deleted, because it's useless for what it's titled to be.

I agree. And like I said, this is completely different than the Trinidad situation which some people bring up. He actually would have an extra year to play at Ole Miss under the old standard if he had taken the RS year he was entitled to at his previous school...Grand Canyon or whatever it was. The only thing abnormal about Trinidad's deal is he wanted his RS year like 3 years later.

The only significant difference is the NFL guys moved on because they had no other choice (@ that time ie out of years) the 5 for 5 and challenges associated changed that fact potentially.
RJ Luis still had one year of eligibility but chose to sign with a team then didn't play

This is the guy everyone said had no shot and I felt the same way but with all these ruling in different sports and a BR judge I now feel like he has a good shot and he completely changes your team and their ability for a deep run. You are talking about adding an All-American to your roster. How often do you have that opportunity. Get him and the Euro guys and sky is the limit depending on health and how this team gels together. Would be a deep talented team with tons of experience
