I don't think we should take a player who takes copium.

I was hoping the Cal QB would enter, but apparently he already announced he plans on staying even with the new HC hire.

Good thing y’all aren’t scouting players.

Please tell me what have you seen from Simmons to warrant him being the starting qb here next year?

He’s made 1 SEC start in his career vs Kentucky and went 13/24 0 tds 2 INTs

He would miss the spring but be there for fall.

I didn’t keep tabs on him, but if he’s good enough I am okay taking a chance — provided we have a solid backup.

Idk how I would feel about taking a guy in rehab as the only option, but if the hype is accurate would still think he is a take.

Problem is I’m not sure you convince him and Chambliss to come with the guarantee one will wind up on the bench.

Leavitt was an expected first rounder pre-surgery

So was Nuss

Simmons is a career 58% passer and has 6 tds and 5 INTs for career stats
He’s also a lefty I believe. I trust Lane to make a decision here

True. Just look at what it did to Nuss this year.

He was a freshman and backup QB. Lane thought enough of him to have him start this year over Chambliss before he got hurt.

He’s also a very smart kid, graduated college at 19. A great athlete and a great teammate. No one knows his game more than Kiffin so if he wants him, I’m good with it.

I'd be willing to bet Kiffin could turn Van Buren into a decent QB. This year's offense just made everyone involved look like poo.

Could perhaps get him decent, but he has some glaring issues with accuracy. Lane’s system makes life easy for QBs, mentally. Still needs to be good though.

Leavitt has got to be conversing with JD

He’s a definite take with LK and if he’s willing to put the work in.

Bring that LT with ya!

Pass..
Anyone that would pass on a Sam Leavitt type QB is retarded. Even if he couldn't play until 2027, you wait for a guy like that. And some reports are stating that he could be ready as early as April/May time frame.

You can't say that in a vacuum. $$$ are involved and he definitely won't come cheap. It is up to CLK to determine if he is worth it.

Like all players he has strengths and weaknesses. If he values himself to high, you have to pass, he isn't a pay any price player.

Would you really pay Underwood money for him? Especially not knowing all of the options that will be available when the portal opens.

Absolutely. Leavitt is proven. Underwood isn't.

Well, I wouldn't pay Underwood money for Underwood

I can't see paying top dollar for a player that might not even be able to play but I'm sure the coaches will have more insight into his recovery.

Bit in any case the $ spent have to make sense. Just because LSU has money to spend doesn't mean that they can throw it around like a drunken sailor or the $ will dry up.

I trust CLK and company will make good choices.
