Ive noticed after following recruiting for 25 years. When the player/family does stuff like this, the player ends up being a bust.

I sure hope he is a bust. With as much money as he will get I find it ok to wish for his downfall. And the kid has completely choked in the playoffs his last two seasons in a small high school division.

More public reporting confirming that Michigan was at $3M per year on a multi year deal and LSU was at $1.5M on a one year.

If that’s all true, that’s pathetic. We got shoved in a locker monetarily by Portnoy and his half-wit band of Stoolies SMH

They played lsu. Couldn’t seriously recruit any other top quarterbacks because underwood was using lsu for leverage to get a better deal. frick those snakes and frick the current state of CFB

The portal is like minor leagues where players prove themselves at a higher level than high school, and clearly LSU has had much more success at QB using it than developing high schoolers. Probably not as big a loss as it feels like today.

Not sure why you’re bringing religion onto a college football board, but since you are: Christians are generally the biggest hypocrites there are. I’m willing to bet the Underwoods are Christians.

How does NIL work? Is all the $$ guaranteed even if he doesn't stay 4 years?

Wait, lsu was only giving him 1.5 for one yr?

I thought it was 4.5 for 3 yrs. That's crazy if true amd that's on Brian kelly.

Because the poster I responded to was appealing to morality.

You are not wrong. However there are generally different learned moral standards between religions.

You can spin however THIS generation wants to be I’m old school. This is a trash way to negotiate. He absolutely played LSU all along. That’s straight trash. Karma is a bitch.

I completely disagree. Contract law is based on the presumption of good faith. The guy reportedly talked to multiple lsu staff today. Has publicly denied his interest in any offer Michigan had. I’m barely keeping up and I know this.

The culture of enabling this behavior have eroded the entire commercial ecosystem.

I mean you’re not wrong and it’s a bad way of doing business. But he didn’t sign any contracts and that’s the game now. It’s the Wild Wild West.

If someone offers you more than double the money to do the same thing and you haven’t signed anything. Wouldn’t you take the highest offer?!?!

I remember when he said that he was staying committed “on God”

I hope he gets struck by lightning for blasphemy

Yeah but someone makes you an offer that you couldn’t refuse late in the game… that might make you wanna reconsider lol.

Like I said I don’t blame the kids nor the parents for taking the best offer available before they sign paperwork. I blame the NCAA and boosters for turning the purity of college football into whatever this is.

Well it seems like God sent him a better deal.

So, trust in God… all others pay cash lol.

Yea bc if a rival of your job offered you 2x (or whatever …) your salary you wouldn’t leave?

Give me a break- it’s business for these kids and I don’t blame them.

$12 million is life changing money
