"That is preferred by the family."

He is set to attend the Bayou Splash.

It means they can leverage for more money when it's a flip rather than when it's a straight up commitment.

LSU is getting hurt with McKinley because of the revolving door at Defensive Line Coach by these other schools and for good reason. They say LSU is behind Texas and Oklahoma for him. But let's see about the Bayou Splash visit and if he ends up going to Texas.

As Shea says "Watch what they do, not what they say" and McKinley doesn't talk

This sucks, we need to figure out a way to hold on to coaches like our neighbors seem to.

Bo Davis is a hell of a recruiter so it’s going to be tough if it comes down to Davis V Lindsey

Could Melvin Hills, a DL also from Lafayette, committing to Texas be telling as to where McKinley is leaning? Has he told Texas it would take a lot to pull him away from LSU? Who knows. Let’s just hope we can make a “splash” soon.

While true, he’s still a great recruiter

Alabama turns over half their coaching staff every other year and it has zero effect on their recruiting.

Well yea, but I think domination from Bama over the last 20 years speaks for itself + let's not get it twisted they've got the GOAT recruiter so who cares as long as he doesn't leave. Horns and aggy have consistency in their D Line staff for a while now

Yeah. I just don’t believe that’s the case. You can easily explain away the coaching turnover. Texas and Texas A&M have positioned themselves really well to battle us for Louisiana talent. But, they are getting the mercenaries being shopped around who want to cash-in on their stock, now. They’re not getting the real soldiers.

And it has clearly produced a ton of success for them both as a team and individually.

Since 2015 LSU has had 8 DT/DE drafted. A&M has had 8. Texas has had 7.

If McKinley doesn't want to come to LSU it is because he either (a) really wants to leave LA for college and/or (b) one of the Texas schools gave him a big NIL deal. Both are justifiable reasons to go to Texas. There are many kids who aren't football players to choose to go to college out of state. But I don't "consistency in the DL coach" will be a big driving factor.

So you WANT to hire shitty coaches like “our neighbors seem to”? Because only shitty assistant coaches stay anywhere.

I wonder if holding his official visit till the fall was a bad move by the coaches

Everyone else on his list got an official this summer

No not at all, but I don’t think Bo Davis and Terry Price (RIP)/E. Robinson are shitty coaches either. Obviously they can recruit, and it seems recruits like continuity to an extent.

Edit to add: Since 2015 LSU has had 8 DT/DE drafted. A&M has had 8. Texas has had 7.

Can you really call them “shitty”?
