he had 2 sacks last year? What am I missing?
Ur clearly missing the ability to see that OLB/DE can make a HUGE impact on a Defense w/o getting a lot of sacks. QB sacks are great but they’re not the only way to judge an OLB/DE worth to a defense.

That would be great news, but I will wait on the formal announcement before getting too excited.

He looks like an Ali Gaye replacement to me. Good run stopper who can penetrate and get some pressure on the QB. But not as athletic as BJ was.

The DL is starting to look solid.

but i dont see it as a Bj Olj. 7/8 sack a year dude...
Ojulari has never had 8 sacks in a season.
2020: 4 sacks
2021: 7 sacks
2022: 5.5 sacks
solid player but perennially overrated. Undersized, high effort 'chaser'. Hardly a force though.

Sacks aren’t the end all be all.
Tell me about TFLs, QB hurries, and game changing plays.
Definitely a force

We might end up having guys leave but it won’t be our young HS recruits on the DL. It’ll be the guys that were already here that got pushed out by the new transfers with the same amount or similar eligibility remaining.
CBK even said after we landed that flux of DL transfers that he’s looking for more DL depth. If I’m not mistaken he said a pretty high number, like 4 or 5. That was after we already got that influx of new guy in here.
They learned a lesson this season, you need to have a two deep rotation and you need to have guys who are getting reps behind them as well. Right now the numbers do not matter to them. They want starters that will push each other out. We will have guys leave anyway, so it’s better to be prepared for that.
Look at it this way. Had LSU landed 4-5 DL in HS, you don’t think they would have still went after that same group of transfers? Of course they would have. Some of these guys might RS? I don’t think they brining all these guys in and telling them they’ll start immediately. I think they’re telling them that we want you here to help us compete and if that means a backup role for a year then I’ll RS your year and have you ready for the following year but we’re going to prepare you for the next level. We’re going to try to get you to a national championship and if you’re not ready, we’ll get you ready and have you prepared for the next level if you trust our process.
So I don’t think they’re necessarily done and they aren’t done at LB either. Might get another OL and RB too. We’ve never had this number but how long has it been since LSU was in a position like this, with a coach who now knows what he needs, is at a place that can provide him what he needs and you still have a darn portal you have to contend with all spring and summer. Having numbers is exactly what we want right now. After they put them through their training, they’ll both reevaluate who’s doing what and go from there.

You do realize we've only got 85 scholarships to give, right?
Right now we're sitting at 81. And we're two players short at both linebacker (you want 7; we have 5) and on the offensive line (you want 15; we have 13).
If you want to run current people off, then I suppose you can take Rogers. Fact is, he's almost certainly going to Auburn or Bama for a big bag of NIL cash and a guaranteed starting job that I don't think he gets here.

That's because they were targeting him last month. Things change. They got their 1st round pick DE to come back which may have impacted his decision.
Well apparently ON3 was right on as I said and nothing changed

Meh, Edmond is mid. FSU has landed some good transfers though

Ehhh….not really.
I think it speaks to the holes in their roster and I like our portal pickups over their by far……

So the lesson we've learned is @CollegeFBPortal isn't a reliable source of information.

This was not a big deal but let’s be serious, FSU is gonna be a problem. They are surging and have lots of mojo.

And this is why I said I would wait to be excited until after the announcement was made.
He committed to FSU and will be lining up against us in Week 1 in Orlando.
Still like the roster that we have.
