re: So BK left ND partially because he wasn’t getting enough talent

I’ll indulge your surface level perception…as someone who has followed LSU and ND for years, I can tell you there remains a difference in talent ND is signing vs LSU. ND has historically secured highly ranked OL,TE and some DL talent. However, ND is still lagging in skilled position talent. They had a lot of momentum last recruiting cycle but wound up with de commitment at the end. LSU is now consistently securing high end OL talent. Once Bo gets his footing the talent gap between the two will grow even more.

Wrong. I post in the SEC rant often and it’s pretty obvious I’m an LSU fan. This was 100% not a troll post, I just didn’t expect ND to be #1 for 2025 at any point. I thought they were having problems recruiting because of academics / weather, etc. I figured I’d get some DV’s but 115? Jeez.

they have twice as many commits as everyone else dipshit
Their player avg is 4 points behind ours
They also finished 2 spots behind us on 247 composite for 24 and 6 spots behind us in 23
On ON3 they are 4 spots behind us right now/finished 4 spots behind us in 24 and 5 spots behind us in 23
How is that even with us?
Learn a little about recruiting before you come in here spouting bullshite

Talent in the south is often undervalued, especially in the skilled positions.
Just think about all the incredible WRs LSU has had just from LA over the past few year. That’s something BK never had access to at ND

Well at ND, Kelly probably was having to fly all over the country. At LSU, Kelly can just drive a couple hours in any direction and get most of his class.

ND has 17 commits. LSU has 9.
That's the reason they're "even". I wonder if ND has like a million 4 and 5* kids on campus this weekend?

It’s about relationships. He’s talked about this. He can build better relationships with his recruits and players because they’re typically in a closer vicinity to LSU than at Notre Dame.

That’s because he is recruiting better at LSU dipshit. Not a troll post my arse

It's a worthy discussion, but you are dealing with average at best people on this site.

I’m gonna take BKs side on this considering he coached at ND. Probably has a bit more experience than you with recruiting

Not every random thought that pops in your head is a winner.

They’re in the Top 10 and only 9 players behind us. I think you’re coming to the wrong conclusion with this data. Notre Dame recruits some of the best talent in the country is what this tells me. They’re close to the big SEC schools.

The difference is at the 3-star level. The south is full of speedy unpolished 3-star WR that are terrible in the classroom.
The few speedy guys like this up north are rated 5-stars and end up at Ohio State.
You just can't coach the speed that comes out of the south.

There’s 15-20 rosters on an annual basis more talented than ND. The vast majority of guys they put in the league are OL, DL, and TE’s.

The top half of classes at any power program are gonna be relatively in the same category of talent. The bottom half is where the souths advantage makes the difference.
You’ve actually got this flipped, at least as it applies to ND. They land plenty of solid P5 type guys. The bottoms of their class typically looks similar to ours. Their problem is as that they very rarely land the Harold perkinses of the world. The jakeem stewarts and Lamar browns of the world.

For one you now have NIL which means players can be paid to go anywhere. Also we may have the number 1 recruiting class in 2025 and ND couldn't dream of that.
