Many may not know this but TCU hired longtime Neville offensive coordinator Brett Leomine as director of high school relations several months ago. There is no doubt they are doing all they can to keep the north la pipeline going. Would rather them in Texas than Alabama.

probably a good thing if he stays out of the SEC. I dont recall many 5'10" 190lb white skill players succeeding

Pretty obvious lsu doesn't think he's a priority with all the other WRs out there. If lsu misses on others , this will sting. If lsu lands Marshall, Keys, etc it's a non issue. I do hope he lands at TCU and not Bama though.

Correct, and I mentioned it earlier last week.

Bama is looking ahead to 19' and '20 recruiting classes at West Monroe as they are stacked with 4 stars and possibly a 5 star player. It was strategic.

LSU couldn't afford to make any errors in evaluation and scholarships because of last years debacle offensively recruiting wise. Bama doesn't have that problem. They will offer Slade and show the love till the end hoping he commits. Then next year Gleason and Hutchinson will be courted just as hard and they will definitely be telling them that LSU doesn't care about West Monroe like they do blah blah.

So, in the end LSU evaluated players at camp and through other venues and made a tough decision on moving forward. We knew schollys would be limited because we have to get it right this recruiting class as many of these players will be counted on early to contribute.

Will he know who on the LSU staff Slade is taking a shot at? Or did he just say O did a good job because he knows that O got in the last shot in the Phidarian Mathis saga.

He said this. It sounds like he taking a shot at an LSU coach other than O for not sucking him off every time he wanted it.

More from WM's @_slade_10. On why LSU did not make final 2 . "Coach O is great... but need whole staff on board. Did not feel that from LSU"

He got a scholarship offer... what else does he want? Hugs? ... kisses? ... all the coaches to tell him how wonderful he is while battin' their eyelashes?
I'll never understand kids today. (Too old I guess)

https://www.seccountry.com/lsu/ed-orgeron-phidarian-mathis-comments-pete-jenkins

quote:

If there is one thing Ed Orgeron is sensitive about, it’s anybody besmirching the name of veteran defensive line coach Pete Jenkins, who is the closest thing he has to a family member in the industry.

The only time Orgeron got cross with a caller to his radio show last season was when a failed comedian dialed in and asked if Jenkins would be appointed to copy then-Houston coach Tom Herman’s pregame routine of kissing players on the cheek.

So, when LSU defensive tackle target Phidarian Mathis cited Jenkins’ lack of attention as the reason for choosing Alabama the night before signing day, it raised Orgeron’s ire. Coach O didn’t club Mathis with a blunt object the same way Les Miles did to quarterback prospect Gunner Kiel in 2012, but he made his displeasure clear during his Wednesday press conference.

“We got the guys we want. The guys we didn’t want, we’ll play against them,” Orgeron said. “Pete Jenkins is a great coach. That’s all I’ll say about that.”

“We got the best player in Louisiana and the No. 2 defensive tackle in the country in Tyler Shelvin,” Orgeron said.

Perhaps that wasn’t a direct shot at Mathis, but at the very least it was an indicator that Orgeron wasn’t heartbroken over missing out on him.

Multiple LSU sources were adamant Mathis met with Jenkins on his visits to campus and he had the assistant coach’s phone number. But because the 75-year-old Jenkins is not designated as an off-campus recruiter on the staff, any phone contact between the two had to be initiated by the recruit.

If Mathis announced he was going to Alabama in the same manner as Amite (La.) wide receiver DeVonta Smith, Orgeron likely would have said nothing. But once Jenkins was dragged into the equation, a response was inevitable.

Sounds like Slade is afraid of the wrath of Eaux.

i said this was the case a couple weeks ago, the family source i spoke to was pretty adamant that Canada acted like he could give 2 shits about Slade......not gonna lie, this pisses me off. Slade is gonna make LSU look stupid in a couple years. I'm rooting for the kid, even if he goes to Bama

Doesn't really matter what Bama wants to do. If LSU is as successful on the field as I think they will be LSU will get whom ever they want at the end of this class and especially 2019!

This kid is a three star, "all purpose" back who barely cracks the top one thousand players on 247. He is ranked 877 composite, though.
So what's the fuss? No one can seriously think he'll be a program changing player any where.

JJ has done a GREAT selling job... But LSU doesn't get sold players, they pick them
