it’s highly unlikely either of those guys contributes much as true freshmen.
I think it's likely that one of those guys WILL contribute a lot as a true freshman. One of the reasons true freshmen rarely contribute at LSU is that they have a lot of experienced talent in front of them. That's not the case at corner this year.

DL pressure (tackles, ends, LB's, whatever) will make all of our current CBs look all-world.

This is the Dabo Swinney way of thinking. Ridiculous and will hold LSU back

JK Johnson, Zy Alexander, Jyaire Brown, Sage Ryan, Javien Toviano, Ashton Stamps, and Jeremiah Hughes.
All unproven or mediocre.

Obviously you aren't a talent evaluator. Alexander was an SEC caliber starter in the 2nd half of the season. Toviano will be very soon. I can't evaluate Johnson and Brown since they haven't played at LSU. Stamps was improving but was injured most of the season. Hughes barely played. But minimum of 2 of those listed will be fine and certainly above mediocre.

I have no problem if that's how you want to build your roster
But it's no different than any other sport now, you want to compete you better not shut the portal off or you gonna get left behind and in football a lot more teams are gonna go for that 12 team playoff

I think they’re just giving the new staff time to evaluate the players on the roster and decide their spring portal strategy. Everyone wants every problem solved right this minute. Just R-E-L-A-X… and be happy we aren’t Bama.

You proved my point. I guess perhaps you think saying Alexander was "SEC caliber" means he's better than mediocre (and I hope you are right). But I personally think he's at best an average SEC corner.
All of the others are unproven, even Toviano, who showed some nice flashes.

Good move. I also see one of Savion or Shand moving inside as well to help with experience there
How is savion Jones going to play tackle when he couldn't hold up at end?

That will help in two years. Is the plan to be bad on defense for the next couple years? Cb and D line are not good at all

Bo Davis about to flex on those 2 grad transfer DTs

CB will improve simply with the current players getting actual coaching. I think people are selling a lot of the players already on the roster short by not realizing how bad of DB coaches Steeples and Cooks were.
As others have said, DT is the bigger issue, but if the young guys coming in (Freshmen) can develop quickly, it may not be as big of an issue. Again, you have legit coaching at those positions and will have a lot of focused coaching for the interior DL with Bo this upcoming Spring and next season.

Sherman is a hype man and recruiter. Nearly all of his posts are hyping players.
No one is saying that those two won't be great DB's eventually.
Doesn't help up for next season. Neither of them are likely physically ready for the SEC.

Is he talking to the fans or Raymond and Kelly? They were the ones recruiting Amos, Grimsley and having long conversations with Ricks just last week, not the fans. He's a joke and no better than we are with the hypocrisy.

Especially if we can somehow sign Bussey, I think we did about as well as you could these last two classes at db. Just need to get them covering the right guy. Interior Dt isn't where we want it to be but we got 2 of the best in business coaching/recruiting there, I'm sure they will get that room sorted pretty fast.

This. Part of his job is to help the players already at LSU. Makes sense that he would hype those up who are already on the roster. With that said, if there is a stud in the transfer portal, you don’t turn down a day 1 plug in starter.
