I don't think one person had a CB to LSU last year for Gilbert. Recruitments like that are quite rare but they do happen. Recruiting can be ridiculously unpredictable and nothing is ever a sure bet with 18 year olds making decisions. Every expert and insider will tell you that.

All we can do is hope he chooses us tomorrow.

The biggest questions I have, when it comes to Louisiana kids wanting to go to BAMA...LSU writers and BAMA writers ALWAYS have differing opinions. Always different information from diffeeent sources.

How and why is that? Who’s talking to BAMA writers that they have so much confidence compared to who’s talking to LSU guys and still claiming they have the RIGHT information.

This isn’t the first time this has happened either. Seems like the BAMA guys always get the scoop first and the LSU side has completely different information and is blind sided.

It’s been the case for 3-4 years now.

IMO Saban tells the recruits to lie to our writers/staff

It happens too often and it seems it’s always in battles with them

If a coach was telling me to lie or purposely mislead another school and coach I don’t think I would want anything to do with him. Even as a teenager.

I like to believe I have too much respect for those spending time on recruiting me.

Why would I care where he gets his info from, if he's sharing info that I don't have access to?

Because you guys take it as gospel and it's not "inside" information which is the only reliable source. Plenty of folks have subscriptions to the pay sites and they post info in couched ways. The coaching and recruiting staff are very guarded with their info and very little is passed onto to boosters, etc. They know what is posted on forums and they keep their eye out for leakers. I've posted this before but back when Tiger Roar/The Lair was a thing, there were several reliable "insiders" until..... Saban shut it down. He had folks monitor the "Lair" and he knew what was said. Eventually the info tips just dried up.

What I think happens is that if you commit to bama it's for sure. So, their writers are getting solid info.

Our writers are hearing the trickle down of our over optimistic coaches. O will tell you himself he's getting everyone till the last minute.

I feel like that's where it comes from

I agree. Same thing with insiders. They are getting info from LSU sources (coaches, staff, etc.).

So as along as people on here understand that...MAYBE... they won't freak out so bad when the insider info doesn't win out in the end.

Saban doesn’t phrase it that way. He says, “Aight this is how it is, you can go public now to us, but your life will be miserable for months. Those ditch diggers will harass you, make death threats against you and your family, and torment you up until signing day. If I were you I couldn’t put my family through that torture. The easier play is to keep things close, listen to their offers and make sure Bama is right for you. If you feel this way on signing day, and we certainly feel this way about you let’s announce and sign then.”

Seems like it's been longer than 3-4 years. I'm trying to remember if the LSU/Bama writers were ever split and it goes LSU's way. They definitely have the edge there.
