Didn't realize we were in on him, solid player, similar to an in state kid I am sure we could also get.
Trevon Spillers: PPG 12.8 REB: 8.9 BLK: .7 DBPR 1.68
Joe Charles: PPG 11.3 REB 9.6 BLK 1.1 STL 1.7 DPBR 1.46
Both 6'-7" high effort defenders Spillers is a better finisher around the rim who had no attempts from outside on the year while Charles shot 34%
Either would be a great get.

The kid from Yale has a do not contact on his name
So he's made up his mind where he is going?

Spillers already set up a visit with Arkansas.
Hopefully lsu can get him on campus.
Mark Sears, who transferred to Alabama, played for Ohio. Good players can come from anywhere.
I'd rather take a guy who is dominating a smaller conference over an underachieving former 5 star.

Jordan Sears will be visiting campus tomorrow

Just updated the list! New Contacts have two stars next to their names. I also added a section for commitments and scheduled visits.

Really don't know how to feel about Sears. He had 48 more assists than anyone else on our team, while also averaging over 20 points (granted in a weak conference). On the other hand, he also had 29 more turnovers than anyone else on our team. Considering our consistent struggle with turnovers, I just don't know how much adding Spears improves our offensive efficiency.

He rates out poorly on Defense. Another turnover prone guard that doesn't play D. Feels like CMM could do better than that in the portal.

He's a score first PG that isnt really a traditional PG.
Being like 5'10 really limits him defensively though and thats where he NEEDS to be a big time scorer to make up for that.
Wouldnt be the worst portal land, but like Cam Carter has some major flaw areas.

Tre’von Spillers would fix our rebounding problems. He averages 12.2 per 40 minutes, which is at least 2 more than anyone else on the team last year. If we get him and Chest is a good rebounder, then we may actually be a good rebounding team next year.

Sears is a legit bucket.
Just from watching his highlights it looks like he Has good vision on his passes. Made some nice technical high in passes
His 3 point stroke is legit. He gets super high off the floor.

With May leaving, and Goldin and Davis transferring, would not be surprised to see Alijah Martin hit the portal. Grew up 70 miles away from Campus in Mississippi. Not amazing stat wise but the kid can play, and is a top 200 Evan Miya player the last 2 years. LINK

Tre’Von Spillers has committed to Wake Forest. We were in his top 4

The 6'8 PF M. Brown from Syracuse is a top notch defender and rebounder that would be nice but given our current roster makeup with Collins, Reed, Chest, Fountain, and Miller I think the 7' center from FAU would be a nice piece, very good analytics tied to both offense and defense. The Rutgers guy is choice #1 but he isn't coming to LSU.
There are still 2 (Zachery, Dondaldson), maybe even 3 or 4 (kid from N Tex and FAU) nice PG's out there, not including Sears, that have 2-3 years experience and well rounded offensively and defensively.
Must admit I'm a little worried about the "motor" and "toughness" associated with both Reed and Miller if they are to be counted on for heavy minutes at the 4 and 5 so we really need a dog vet down low. And most definitely need a vet PG to go along with Givens / Stewart (if he stays). Sears in Cook 2.0 - horrible on D and me first player on O which is not good for lead guard.
