You have to lead with guys that are not out of place on the court in SEC games. I’m not a Miller guy but at least you have film vs the competition he will play against. There is absolutely more there for him to tap into, but he has a long way to go. His eval is easier vs other guys coming from smaller programs.
Fill out a core then you can gamble on a few guys. It’s way too competitive to just say “recruit and evaluate” better
What does this have to do with paying Robert Miller 1 mil dollars when he wasn't worth anywhere close to that?
Good coaches don't pay robert Miller 1 mil. They let him walk. You could easily replace him for half the price.

Clearly there is a market for him, so must be a bunch of bad coaches after him.

You think Nwoko would be worth the $3M Xavier paid for him if he stayed here for that?
Some random team who is potentially willing to OVERPAY doesnt mean thats the true "market" for a particular player
Remember when the above average/decent DTs hit the spring portal a couple years ago and were demanding 7 figures for their services from teams desperate like us? And we were like yeah, nah, I mean we cant pay an ok DT $1M-$1.5M for 1 season

I don’t believe reported figures on Twitter. But Nwoko is a good player. Especially if he can curb the foul trouble.
The market is the market, whether it’s 1 team or multiple.
I’m not sure why it’s shocking Miller would cost a reported $1mil. 6’10” with a 7’5” wing span, athletic and has some touch. You see the biggest jump in players going into year 3. As much shite as everyone gave McMahon you would think that potentially he was not getting the most out of these players, to begin with.

Sham,
From the contact list - Lowe committed to Georgetown, and Dual committed to Syracuse.

He's a good player, who has his obvious drawbacks (not a 3 point shooter) who plays only about 20 minutes a game because he has a bad tendency of fouling and just has other general shortcomings. He had just 1 double double in SEC 18 game regular season this year. He had just 8 or less points scoring in 8 SEC games this season. He had just 5 rebounds or less in 11 SEC games. There's some obvious drawbacks to his game there and pretty big lack of consistency.
It's laughable to think it would have been a good investment for us to give him $3M if our roster limit is somewhere in the neighborhood of $10-$12M. He's not that kind of player, not even close.
$1M? Sure, absolutely. Maybe even $1.5M.
But $2M+ when we need a dozen or so from the portal? Yeah again, you pay a guy like Dedan that (assuming 100% healthy), not Nwoko.

I dont think you understand what true market value is. If 300 Honda Accords all similar to mine are sold privately in the last 30 days all ranging from $12k-$17k. The marfket for my car is $12k-$17k. If I list it for $20k, and someone buys it for $18k; that just means they way overpaid the market value of the car. If we told Nwoko hey we want you back on a $1M deal, he talks to others and they are all around that ball park, maybe a bit above or below, but then 1 team comes storming in with 2x-3x offer compared to everyone else...then that 1 team is just way above market value for him. Even if it was only $2M, that's a lot for a player of his caliber.

Also a guy rated a little higher - Mouhamed Sylla. Big time true freshman this past season. 6-10.

Did I miss somewhere I said lsu should have paid $3mil for Nwoko? The hell are you ranting about?
The bottom line is most of these kids are set on leaving, regardless if lsu has a nice offer for them. Once they enter the portal I never expect them back.
What you or anyone else perceive as “value” doesn’t not erase that there is a market for him.

Yes, and that market was not what Xavier paid him, which is why it shocked not only our side but many others recruiting him.
Again, there's market value and paying ABOVE market value.
A guy like Nwoko doesnt play like a high end player (again listed out all his deficiencies he's had his whole career so far) where he should get the kind of deal he got from Xavier, good for him, but it doesnt mean thats "the market" for him. It just means 1 team was willing to way overpay. And simply something we'd be dumb to match when we need a dozen players from the portal on a $10-$12M-ish budget. If w ecould retain him for $1M, great. But paying $2M-$3M for a player of his caliber starts to really limit you consider the budget is what it is overall.

I didn’t want them to bring back Nwoko lol
Posted on 4/13/26 at 11:59 am to Lester Earl
Why are you arguing then about "well thats his market value" when it very clearly wasnt compared to all the other teams recruiting him. It was a very very easy decision for him to just sign with Xavier right off the bat, nobody else was coming close.
Again, there's ACTUAL market value, then there could always be someone willing to way overpay above that. See my Honda Accord example. Just because someone is willing to vastly overpay what 300 others have done, doesnt mean that's within the market of that vehicle

Who cant rebound and defend. Not a good player. An average player with decent offensive game around rim with no outside scoring what so ever or ball handling.

I was talking about RM3, not Nwoko.

He’s a competent 4th year big. Definitely more valuable than you’re leading on. Age + experience is a cheat code in college sports today.

Sure for $1M-$1.5M maybe
Not for $3M
Nwoko is not that kind of impact player, never has been
