I’d remove Niang and Dessert from this, it seems pretty unlikely that the NCAA will grant them a waiver.

The panel issued a ruling today, and Clark is now ineligible.

Just saw that, not sure if it similar to Ohio ruling where the original suit can still go on or if he will just join another suit

Skyy Clark is still eligible under a California state injunction , we should be fine there

I thought he removed himself from one? I could be thinking of someone else though.

It's all been too confusing and frustrating.

And we're just fans. I can't imagine what it's like dealing with this as a player, staff, or even a compliance person.

It was reported that he voluntarily dismissed his claims in that case.

Not sure Wade sounded very confident in his press conference. He knows what’s going to happen and I’m fine with it. He took a big swing, if we miss, we miss.

Why would dent be ineligible with 5 for 5? Not like he went pro

That is correct. I don’t believe he is eligible under the California case.

Yeah, it took a bit to find documentation:

Glancey v. NCAA: Skyy Clark was an original plaintiff, but voluntarily dismissed his case. (No. 26CV498334, Santa Clara Superior Court (California state court), Judge Beth A.R. McGowen) LINK

Dent is ineligible under the NCAA 5 for 5 rule, regardless of going pro or not. He has temporary eligibility via a TRO. The hearing to convert the TRO to a preliminary injunction will resume on Oct 20th. If the court issues a preliminary injunction, then the NCAA will appeal. They now have a pretty strong track record of getting these preliminary injunctions stayed. So, it won't be surprising if Dent becomes ineligible at some point during the season.

Melvin Council Jr., a starter at Kansas last year, posted an IG story about a decision coming tomorrow with LSU, Kentucky, and Michigan involved. He was granted an injunction on 9/29 and seems unlikely to return to Kansas. He averaged 14PTS 5REB 4AST a game last year. Could be him trolling but we’ll see.

Can he still enroll in school? Also, the NCAA will appeal this preliminary injunction and likely be granted a stay. Can a school rotate players on and off the roster during the season depending on who has eligibility via court orders? Also, are these guys getting full NIL deals, or are they prorated based on how long they are eligible?

ETA: Reports that Michigan isn't an option

ETA2: Same for Kentucky
