Evan Miyakawa claiming LSU is 19th on his site if everyone gets eligible!

The fact that Santos was already ruled ineligible by the NCAA and they feel positive on the other internationals makes me assume we’ve got positive preliminary judgement from the NCAA.

I've tried to keep up, but I have no idea who the 13-15 players are right now
Well we know of 12 or 13 of them publicly, we just don't know who will be eligible:
Clark
Dent
Divine
Bashir
Nunez
Niang
Dioubate
Ruzic
Dessert
Bender
Levy
Luis
People are saying Stansberry as a walk on, so that would make 13. I also heard a local kid is walking on. That would make 14.
So there is probably just one spot that is a question mark, as far as who the 15 guys are. The questions that remain are just eligibilty related, which are big questions

I don't think Santos got an NCAA determination. He got married this summer, and LSU wasn't giving him a huge raise. Rumors were that he wanted to stay closer to home after getting married.

That is not 100% accurate. Skyy Clark was originally part of the California case, but withdrew (voluntarily dismissed his claims) from that case and joined the Kentucky case, Wells vs. NCAA (Jefferson County Circuit Court)
Thanks for pointing that out. I missed it happening.

That’s not what Wade alluded to today.
“When did you make a decision on Santos”
Wade smirks “I don’t know, you’d have to ask the NCAA.”

Sankey is pissed that he can't police the LSU Basketball roster because he doesn't know who is on the LSU Basketball roster.

I guess we'll never know since LSU never officially recognized Santos. Other schools have issued statements about players not getting cleared and wished them luck on their return to international play.
Santos has been the hardest of the 4 to get any info on since it was announced in the foreign press that he agreed to a deal with LSU. In July, there was news that he was married, along with speculation that it could impact his decision to go to LSU. Then nothing else of note until it was announced that he was playing for the Brazilian national team.
The only thing we got from the local press was insiders saying everyone was cleared and everyone was in! Then it was, well, Madar is out. Now it's, well, Santos is out.
All we have to go on is the NCAA decisions that have been made public. Based on that, Ruzic's resume closely resembles that of other players who got cleared. Niang and Dessert have resumes that resemble those of some of the guys who have been ruled ineligible.
Maybe LSU will announce something, or maybe we'll have to wait and see who plays in the exhibition games.

Wade seemed pretty unsure that it would all be settled by the first exhibition

Wade didn't say all would be "settled". That implies that the work on eligibility will be done. What Wade said is he'll know the status on all of the players by the first game. I'm not sure if he meant the first exhibition or first regular season game. Obviously LSU will have to report its roster before their games, so we would have to know the players' status to understand how playing them would impact LSU. Regardless of the status of the players by the first game, LSU, the NCAA and SEC may not allow the matter to be settled.

Well at least there is some news. Wonder what Jackson’s record is in getting eligibility for these types

I know. I posted it back then. It's a pretty strong indication that LSU expects at least some of the internationals to pursue legal challenges to the upcoming NCAA determinations. You don't proactively secure counsel if everything is going your way.

I think its going to be further than that tbh. We pretty much know who is on campus but I can see their eligibility battles going on well into the season. Hopefully we can have Ruzic for the whole season. Just going to assume the big Hebrew is good since he barely played, barely made money and wasn't in the email.
Then we gradually get Dessert and Niang eligible, but I don't see them getting eligible within a few weeks.
RJ Luis was/is/ and always gonna be a Hail Mary.

Should know about Dent by the end of this month.
I think Clark is likely good, but not 100% clear of hurdles.
Both are big pieces. Without them, the backcourt is thin.
Both could have issues as the season progress based on appeals (assuming preliminary injunctions are granted).

After looking into it, a couple of things are happening with this case in the near future. The NCAA's motion to stay has been referred to a 3 judge review panel. Also, the judge still needs to hold a hearing on converting the TRO to a preliminary injunction. The judge might be waiting for the review panel to rule b/c their ruling would override either his TRO or preliminary injunction.

Santos has been a pro for like 7-8 years now, probably did him in. He is only a little older than Dessert, but turns 24 in a couple months, granted obviously that didnt stop Chambliss from getting his 6th year.
