Temporarily Eligible under TRO; Preliminary Injunction Hearing 9/29

6. Dent - 25
7. Clark - 152

That is not 100% accurate. Skyy Clark was originally part of the California case, but withdrew (voluntarily dismissed his claims) from that case and joined the Kentucky case, Wells vs. NCAA (Jefferson County Circuit Court). A preliminary injunction has been granted in that case and the NCAA lost its request for emergency appeal. So as of today, Skyy Clark has a preliminary injunction and there will be no emergency appeal of that decision. Given that we are in September, there is a good chance that the Kentucky state court won't have a trial on the merits until after April 2027.

Clark should be good.

ETA. News reports are a little murky as to next steps. Could have some hurdles left to clear.

I'm not a lawyer, but doesn't a TRO stop the NCAA from enforcing its rule for a very brief period, but the a preliminary injunction allows the NCAA to enforce its 5 for 5 rule? If the TRO prevents the NCAA from enforcing its 5 for 5 rule, doesn't that mean they can only enforce their prior rules that only allows 4 years of eligibility, so that would still make Clark and Dent ineligible? Doesn't the TRO expire after the prel injunct hearing on 9/29? If I understand it correctly, then it seems that Dent and Clark would only be eligible with a favorable judgement from the injunction hearing.

As I mentioned above, Clark and Dent are now in different lawsuits.

Different jurisdiction do it differently, but generally a TRO is temporary, and a preliminary injunction is intended to last while the case is pending. If the NCAA wins and the preliminary injunction request is denied, then the NCAA can deem the players ineligible.

Yes, the important question is whether these cases ultimately result in a preliminary injunction.

Wade says LSU may need to work through some stuff when it comes to exhibition games. But by first game, he expects the players to be eligbile.

Will Wade says Saliou Niang will remind LSU fans about Tari Eason. Says Niang, Brice Dessert and Michael Ruzic all bring something different to the team but most importantly, physicality.

LSU coach Will Wade says it's been cool seeing a team come together from so many different backgrounds, but has some aspects that have really connected the whole group and brought them all together early in this preseason process.

Will Wade emphasizes that LSU has a full roster signed and has been operating since the beginning of school as a typical basketball program in terms of full practices and preparation.

Will Wade asked about the forecast for Louisiana high school recruiting, particularly with a run right now of top basketball prospects having been top football prospects as well. "Well, I can't comment on that right now," Will Wade laughs. Says he does see some good prospects in the coming 2027, 2028, 2029 classes that appear to have basketball as top priority athletically.

It's good to know that the whole roster has been practicing, because that was one of my major concerns. I don't understand why they don't list them on the official roster if they have a TRO or preliminary injunction that allows them to play.

Who is the 13th? With Santos out, I think we're missing 3 spots.

Can't wait for Jeff Goodman to comment on this. He may not like the replies though.

I've tried to keep up, but I have no idea who the 13-15 players are right now. Has someone posted a list of who is definitely playing and who we are awaiting rulings on? Feel like we need a sticky if someone has.
