Can he catch and block? That's more important. He doesn't have to have Evan Engram type speed to be effective.

Also he went to same school as Dumervil and Marlon Martinez which is 7A football in Florida

He is ranked higher than Danny Lewis by the way.

Very good competition - Mason played for St. Thomas Acquinas.

At 6'4 230 lb, he look like speedy Gonzales to me. Plus he catches like he's got velcro hands. And it looks like he makes pancakes all day!

He’s not slow but most TEs are not blazing fast either.

That Moss is still running his 40

When considering an offensive players skill set in recruiting videos the first thing one should do is count the number of white guys on defense... particularly LBs and DBs.

From there you can make guestimates about the offensive players abilities projecting into the college game.

He had a huge first game this past season against St. Frances Academy which was a big game. SFA beat IMG and De La Salle last year.

LINK

10 catches for 136 yards

For whatever reason the rest of the year in 10 more games he only had 25 catches for 267 yards...seems like he hardly got used after that big 1st game.

I think he's a good looking prospect, but like 90% of freshman he needs a good bit of development before you can expect a big impact.

The surprise of the class is going to be Ibieta. Tolan is also underrated IMO.

Being the son of Jason Taylor, former NFL great, he should be pretty football savvy at least. I think he’ll do pretty good here.

The last fast tight end lsu had, he had power, speed, could block, and he had some good hands. Bad arse 5 star. You know what happened to that guy?? He had a very weak mind and could not not get his head straight. He did not last a whole freshman season under Ed O, so he committed to gators then ah wasn't happy over there for a month or how ever long that was so next he committed to Georgia and enrolled there. Do you know what that Georgia native did for his Stats at university of Georgia ?? Zero not one stat, his mind and heart is weak as shite. He had size, speed had it all. Speed aint all everything buddy for a tight end. Not all everything for a wide receiver either. Look what happen to Jameson Williams, Could not help his team win it all.

tell me you don't know a lot about football without telling me you don't know a lot about football. He is being recruited as a tight end, they need to be big, strong, block, and be able to catch the occasional pass. Don't get yourself thinking tight ends are like Jack Bech.

Kid is a great athlete and has great hands. Only knock I’ve had on him of all the video I’ve watched is he gets tackled very easily. The guys tackling him are smaller corners and safeties, and you don’t see him break many tackles against those guys.

That video link doesn’t show him breaking a single tackle. Hopefully he can develop that ability when he gets to LSU. That would make him a very tough matchup against LBs and DBs.
