Tracking international prospects always comes with a lot of moving parts and compliance hurdles, but it would be a game-changer if the staff can actually pull it off.

I’ve just about given up on the Russian coming here .

Minaeva would definitely complete the 2026-27 roster. Kim usually goes 12 players and a walk-on. But yeah, the radio silence the past few weeks has me believing that it isn’t going to happen.
This team as is without Minaeva will have an uphill battle to reach the Elite Eight. But likely they once again go home after losing in the Sweet Sixteen.
I thought after Kim copped the National Championship in her second season that we would go on and be the big bullies and could get whoever we wanted.
But we seem to have found our niche. We are one of the top programs in the country but are clearly a step below UConn, South Carolina, UCLA, and Texas.

You are right on! We are at our zenith as a program. I would not be surprised if the Russian winds up at one of the other programs you mentioned

Well they were seconds away from the elite 8 last year so I’d expect that to be their ceiling again, but who lnows ?
Looks like Koval will be the only true big on the roster again , hopefully she can make a big jump in her junior season .

I would think in the opposite direction. Until we see Kim announce that the roster is final (which she always does), assume that Minaeva is still headed to LSU. Although I’m a little antsy about it as well, I think we have to be patient in bringing in a student-athlete straight from Russia.
It’s quite an exceptional situation- so press releases don’t happen in the timing that we want them. Radio silence can be only a good thing at this point. If there was a problem it would be announced that the current roster is final. I applaud Kim for the courage and faith to do this.
