Wiltfong said we will very likely finish top 5 and a decent shot at top 3

I'll take it..great pick up for us on the OL.

But when will we get the top 5 OL and DL recruits? DJ Chester is 13th in his position and 138th overall. Just don't understand how Clemson, Ohio State, Georgia and Bama do it.

When you can offer the same or more money plus a higher chance at Conference and National Championships you get the most prized recruits

Are you seriously complaining about getting a top 150 player? SMH

How is Bama offering more $? Baton Rouge is way more desireable than Tuscaloosa IMO.

As far as a NC. We won in 2019 is that not good enough.

I mean did you miss us getting 2 starting OTs as freshman this year in Campbell and Jones?

Maason Smith on the DLine was a 5-star as well.

Zalance Heard is Top 6 OT and nearly Top 50 overall player

Dashawn Womack is Top 5 DLine and Top 50 overall player

We have 7 total commits this class who are Top 200 overall players in the country on the OL/DL

Offensive linemen are the toughest to evaluate because there is so much physical development usually needed for the position.
There is a lot of projecting based growth and strength potential.

… meaning stars matter less in these positions than other places on the field.

What’s more important is that we are getting the guys we want.
And DJ Chester is a highly sought after recruit by the staff.

Also look at who’s starting at LT and RT this year on their team (and who’s already committed) before making that comment.

Now tell me, where do you think Lloyd Cushenberry was ranked. Would you have traded him for any other 5 star center that was ranked above him?

Yeah it seems 5 is now the floor which is awesome. 3 is probably right for the ceiling, which is getting Toviano, Harbor, Ricks most likely. Ohio State and Texas are in similar positions but if we get those three we should edge them out, but UGA and Alabama are a good bit ahead and have just as much on the table.

Just don’t understand how they do it…meanwhile LSU just got Heard, 5 star on a few services and an elite OL. Folks come on recruiting boards either dense or to troll. LSU just grabbed Masson Smith, an elite recruit off the line a few years back and that’s just a simple example. Colin Simmons is the top EDGE next season and he’s basically an LSU commit lock out of Texas. These folks are glamorizing these other schools whom had less championship success over the past two decades and similar recruiting. It is the COACHING that makes the difference, LSU has always recruited at an elite level.

Thats a stretch.

We can't ask when we will get the top OL and DL recruits? Geez.

Top 10 recruiting classes year in and year out is a must to compete for the playoffs yearly. After that coaching is what gets those recruiting classes titles.

Oh, so you have no idea of what youre talking about. Got it.

I wouldn't trade our Oline or Dline class with anyones.
