I thought I would feel better about everything this morning, but NO I am still mad as hell about how everything went down. I can’t imagine how the athletes feel.. that was some BS!! And it felt very blatant.
How do the coaches from the other teams put up with this sh*t every year? My mental health would be shot lol! They need to demand changes. I don’t know, like refuse to put OU on their schedule or some kind of protest or something until they change things.
This year was really bad with the scoring. Like really really really bad.

They put up with it because of the unspoken, or maybe spoken behind the scenes, threat of "complain and your team will never win another meet again!"

I can understand that thought process, but this needs to be a group effort. Most or all should get together and try to do something about it. Like who cares…OU wins every year no matter what so it would be worth the risk if you had a large group doing it…strength in numbers.

Really really good but how she does coming off the injury remains to be seen. Very very clean beam, bars and a nice 1.5 vault

Seems the Torez’ ladies (mother and daughter) are on a social media blitz to stir shite. Mom making it seem like an lsu fan/parent practically attacked Keira wells in elevator and put up and L. I think she took it as loser and not what every LSU fan does. She also totally called the team toxic and unfriendly.
Faith is on x telling people to “cry about it” that they won. Her’s is funny, mom’s is definitely not.

I saw that! I think that whole exchange was misunderstood with the “L” being held up. She should not be clumping in the whole LSU team and their parents based on one fan’s behavior.
Being a mother, I can totally understand the “mama bear” mentality, but they should both keep it professional and not stoop to that level. It’s probably hard when people are saying mean things about her daughter’s appearance online (who wasn’t an LSU person I don’t think). At the end of the day, Faith and the other OU girls didn’t judge themselves. Be angry with the judges and their completely unacceptable job, not the athletes.

Just before I read these posts about Torrez I wached the last rotation for both teams and as I watched her facial expressions and head movements my thought was Torrez is an arrogant little twerp who knows that Oklahoma leo will provide cover for her missteps and it did just that. She had a huge slide on her last pass yet still scored a 9.95 . Meanwhile on beam a slight hop and Kailin gets a 9.90. So , yeah, the Tiger nation is very pissed about several things yesterday. The best team did not win and a lot of people who are not LSU or OU fans also agree.

I’m just as upset about the outcome as the next guy, but calling a college gymnast a b***h is too much.

I finally had a chance to watch the final press conference. Ugh, that was a heartbreaking watch with Chio but she handled it perfectly. Jay mentioned briefly about some new injury that happened with Kaliya’s ankle on Thursday. Does anyone know how she hurt it?
Her floor routine was absolutely flawless! And just to now know that probably hurt like hell to perform. These girls are tough as nails!

OK, but I am still pissed and fuming that we have to deal with this crap year after year, their bread and butter dull routines getting overscored versus the Tigers high flying aggressive routines which don't seem to get credit they deserve. They know it and flaunt it. My special peeve is Lily Pederson getting the exact same score as Amari and Kaliya on floor. To me its not even close. I know I am not as savvy about scoring and deductions as some and I would welcome the opinions on how these routines matched up. If I missed something please point it out. This was in essence the difference in outcome.
Its also curious that Drayton's score was originally shown on the scoring tab as 9.95 then a couple minutes later was changed to 9.9375. Was that just a TV network error. Its hard to believe they just posted a score out of thin air. Betweem that and the long delay before Lexie was signalled to begin there were some strange things and it flowed one way. I believe thats what Jay was referring to as adversity and he took the high road during the press conference , but you could tell he was very pissed.

You can downvote but those OU girls were some of the palest girls I have ever seen! Do they even go out in the sun?

I have been quiet this whole season - and I am a student of this sport (I know the skills; and the deductions; the start values, etc) mostly life has been busy, and they were on top (relatively) for the whole season.
In all honesty, it was Florida’s to lose and they did. I thought Oklahoma wa severely overscored on Thursday as compared to us.
Also, my birthday is 4/20; and for the first time in several years (2024), when I didn’t go to post season, they won. On my 40th birthday! While I was out of the country on a trip. As it always falls relatively, close to my birthday, I thought this year, it could be close.
After Thursday, I thought there wa almost no chance. But, during a day full
Of weekend birthday celebrations, I watched on Saturday and they did everything they could. Can’t help the judging but especially for OU on floor, but the team acquitted themselves in an exceptional manner (even more impressive when almost anyone, including the broadcast had written them
Off) And as someone who knows how hard it is when you’re trying to your best (and do well!) and it’s still not enough, I know how hard it is.
I won’t even get into them icing Lexi on beam, because that’s what happened. But Lexi, if you ever read this, hold your head high because the pressure was exceptional and you tried your best. And as Jay said, even if it didn’t end in a win, everyone tried as hard as they could. And this team made it further than I thought they could for the last month.
I agree with Jay, it was amazing and sometimes it just doesn’t fall your way. I don’t want Kailin, Kaliya, or Lexi (especially Lexi) to wear it. I know that will be hard - but no matter what happened, it was an exemplary performance by all (probably one of the best of the season; top 3 at least)
Anyway love this team and hope they take Jay’s message - be disappointed, that’s natural; but don’t drown in despair
