[quote]While I agree that OU gets preferential scoring LSU wins this year if we have a solid vault rotation. The only person that scored over 9.9 for us was Chio. LSU used to have a great vault rotation and it was our weakest event this year. You go back to getting scores of the past several years and LSU wins the NC going away this year. Or clean up a couple of steps/hops on beam rotation and we win
This has been an issue for LSU for a while. The coaching should make time for repetitions in sticking dismounts on beam and bars during practice. This is how OU gets so many sticks. The coaches should enforce this as a key factor in keeping tenths that are lost in competition. As for vault, the 1 1/2 is difficult to master. I'm not sure what the answer is to vault unless we recruit more gymnasts with traditional vault entries such as Haleigh Bryant's vault.

Carville needs help. He is full of hate and rants almost daily. I cringe when he wears the LSU tees or sweat shirt....not a good look for LSU.

Ella Fine has just committed to Florida. She was formerly committed to Auburn.

Judging is usually more discriminating on the first event. Hopefully the girls can stick at least 3 maybe 4 of the vaults to stay on target after the first rotation. Florida will score well on bars which will likely be their first event unless they choose beam. Both those events have been money for Florida this season.
Georgia is very competitive this year. They will be in the hunt. The Tigers will need to bring their A game and remain focused.

UCLA will be a factor when you consider "four on the floor". One of the top four SEC Teams will probably loose out for the final four. I would be surprised
if they allow all SEC teams to dominate. The fix will most likely be done. LSU needs to work on sticks. That would have made a difference from 3rd to 1st last night. Beam, bars, and vault lost tenths for LSU.

Konnor and Amari were not dialed in last night. Konnor caught her "church release" on bars too close with bent arms. That was a major deduction. Her vault was good in the air but too big of a hop back. Amari was off on all of her events. Let's hope LSU will have all the kinks worked out for Regionals.
Florida has two events that can propel them over everyone (bars and beam). LSU is usually very competitive on floor and vault. We need those back three on vault to hit as they did several weeks ago. I don't know why some of the floor scores weren't higher than 9.90.The scoring was off whether biased or just being harsh.

She has to have some type of mental exercise program that keeps the team focused and competitively on target. Everyone complains about their "robot effect" in routines but one can't deny the judges reward them and they do win championships.

OU is ridiculously good
NCAA
I’m not sure what they do but it needs to be studied and maybe a documentary made about KJ. They had a strong freshman class coming in but so did other schools. However the OU squad looks much stronger. I feel like vault is the determining factor on which team wins the championship and currently OU has the strongest vault team. They are able to somehow minimize steps on landing and therefore have fewer deductions. There’s also something to be said about the way they attack beam. Like Addison looks soo locked in mentally when she’s on the beam it’s something to behold. I’m not a big OU fan but I’m loving them so far this season
The graphic that ESPN put up this weekend where KJ explained how she does her lineups? I thought it was intriguing also.
Gymnast #1 - experienced/stable athlete
Gymnast #2 - experienced/stable athlete
Gymnast #3 - youth/building block, someone who needs experience or confidence
Gymnast #4 - stabilizer/someone with the ability to respond in case something goes wrong earlier in the lineup, get the team back on track
Gymnast #5 - flexible/adjustable position
Gymnast #6 - strong, high scoring finisher
She makes sure each athlete has the "win" mentality. The practice sessions are serious and intense.
It is plain to see that Kindler's formula for success continues to work for OK gymnastics.

Oklahoma just got their 3rd 198+ today and that's after getting one on Friday night also. The Sooners have a strategy that no one else has figured out. She uses the same team lineups almost every meet. These girls do not show fatigue. What's the secret???

The beam judges were ripping the girls for anything they could find. Kaliya 's beam was one of the best on the team. Chio was truly robbed. Jay was livid with the judging as it was across all four events.
Jenny Rowland's statement after the 196.5 at Missouri. They host Oklahoma next week.
ROWLAND SAID:
On team's performance:
"We talked about this is who we were tonight. To us, to me, to our staff, to our team – this meet does not define who we are. I know without a doubt they will use this a momentum to catapult them forward. This team attacks nothing no other way, They aren't going to get down, they aren't going to feel sorry for themselves. They are going to look themselves in the eye and say 'what can I do to get better and not to let this happen again?" I know the fight is there, the will is there, the want is there." – Florida Head Coach Jenny Rowland

Yes, they will favor certain gymnasts as usual. That never changes.

I found videos of Lia Redick's competitions. She won beam at Pan Am's this year and has a great deal of international experience.

Another Natty for OU. They were on target today. Vault was a thorn in the foot for most teams at Championships with very few sticks. The scores did go up somewhat even without bonified sticks for OU. KJ will probably have a statue erected in honor of her coaching success when she decides to retire. We have 9 months ahead until the 2026 season arrives. Let's hope the girls that are recovering from injuries will be ready to train this fall and that we get some strong commits for the 2027 season.
