Would love Pinson to take the Covid year and come back for one more.

Christmas dream of Eason coming back cuz he desires a championship he could help lead and power.

Having those two brings back the core leadership needed to win it all.

If you listen to Wade, he would love for Eason to be a first round draft pick and go one and done. To have the first (or one of the first) transfer portal one and dones will be a great selling point for LSU in the transfer market. Listen to last nights radio show on LSUsports.net.

I looked at around 6 nba mock drafts yesterday. For what it is worth everyone of these except one had Eason being drafted from pick 14 to pick 30 in the first round. Most of them had him in the 20's.

Just throwing this guy out there since we heard Wade will probably hit the portal for an extra guard on next year's team...now this guy isn't in the portal, rather JUCO, but he seems to check a lot of boxes.

His name is DJ Thomas of Grayson College (Division 1 basketball JUCO). He is a sophomore looking to make that jump to a 4-year school. I came across this guy looking at some things and his stat line was just absolutely insane.

He's averaging:

28.3 points
54.8% from the floor (takes 19.4 shots a game)
44.2% from 3 (takes 5.6 a game)
77.4% from FT (takes 5.8 a game)
3.7 rebs
9.5 assists
2.1 turnovers

3.0 steals

Highlighted what was important there. Dude seems like an excellent ball handler but also high end capable scorer and could provide depth for us there next season.

The big drawback and why he's probably not on most folks radars...he's listed at 5'7 and from what I Can dig up, he's probably more like 5'6 so has to be a defensively liability by a good bit...but not saying he should be playing 25-30 minutes a game here, just be a backup ball handler basically.

With the firing of WW, what does this do to recruiting of the ones listed?

Usually the NCAA allows signees to switch when there is a coaching change. There goes Phillips and Ree. The others are committed to Wade.
Should make Wade's Resume quite attractive when he can bring Phillips, Ree, Allen as well as several present players with him.

Wade is not going to be a D1 head coach next season.

You can’t honestly think he’s going to be allowed back in the NCAA next year

Well this past weekend fricking sucked. I'm just gonna leave the OP unchanged until we start getting actual roster news and get a coach.

There was a lot of excitement and movement for baseball when that change happened, so updating that thread was fun. I don't expect the same for basketball. Good luck

San Francisco fired their head coach and I think a lot of their guys are hitting the portal. We are looking at some of them including a really high level infielder and a pitcher I don’t know anything about. Hopefully Reyzelman is in their ear. Luke Keaschall is the infielder.

Less than 24-hours since Bellarmine grad transfer Dylan Penn put his name in the portal, over 20 schools have reached out. The 6-foot-3 point guard finished third in the A-SUN in scoring (16.6 points) and assists per game (5.0) this season.

quote:

“LSU, Purdue, Ole Miss, Memphis, Loyola-Chicago, Oregon State, Georgia Tech, Wichita State, Western Kentucky, College of Charleston, Appalachian State, Evansville, etc., Penn said.”

Penn helped usher Bellarmine into D-I basketball as they were a D-II program for his first two seasons. As the starting point guard for Bellarmine’s only two seasons in the A-SUN, he was 21-8 in conference play. Penn’s only other recorded offer out of high school was Indianapolis.

Freshman foward Kendal Coleman from Noerhwestern State entered the transfer portal. Avereged 15.4 pts, 10.1 reb, and 54.6 FG% would be a huge get. From Shreveport and got 13 rebounds in the PMAC against us this year.
