Have we made any traction to the freshman catcher at LSU-E from Catholic or is he sticking around there for 1 more year?

Even if the intention is for him to stay there for another year, I wish we'd get him on board.

But I don't have any info on his recruitment.

Some sad news as the baseball coach at Pacific University passed away. He was Fidel Ulloa's coach in JUCO.

Any chance for us to get that Hanoian kid from Air Force as a 2B? Or even Ward from Mizzou? Since they’re primary 2B I doubt they are asking for SS money, and i’ve heard Hanoian isn’t in the market to specifically play SS.

Both of those guys would fit what we're looking for. Ward can play more than just 2B. I don't know where we sit with either of them though. I've been stumping for Ward on here though. Vandy is also on him.

Hanoian is visiting Tennessee, and I'm guessing they're going to press hard for a commitment from him because they have almost no infielders, starters or back ups, expected back from this year's roster.

That’s fair. Just wanted to see if you had any info, I really like Ward from Mizzou, he’s gonna be a stud wherever he ends up.

I believe he played at the same high school as Curiel if you consider that a connection.

He did. He was a junior on a loaded team that had Curiel, Gabe Fraser, Nate Savoie, Gary Morse, Gavin Hottle, Josiah Hartshorn, Brady Murrietta, among others: Roster

I’m not sure. I know he fits the mold of a Jay Johnson player, and like they said he went to the same high school as Curiel. When it comes to the west coast guys I see it as Jay is always going to have connections. Bad thing is are we going to be able to get him on a visit after Tennessee? Or is he going to commit there before leaving?

Weinstein might be the play in all actuality. Get him to campus and let him roll

Weinstein didn't go to Orange Lutheran until this year. He was at Huntington Beach HS before this year.

Have Skenes make the call to Hanoian to get him and Savoie in on a package deal. Get the boys back together. Curiel could also probably make a few calls to help.

Hm, didn’t know this. Do know for a fact that Weinstein and Hanoian are buddies. Most of the time that doesn’t matter in a portal recruitment, though.

Luckily he's not a pitcher. Volchko said earlier this year that Skenes helped talk him into playing for Wes

Is Jay hosting OVs this weekend, anyone?

On Matook's podcast it was said that Jay was at the office by 6am and said he would be there for a "good while" today.

It was one of LSU’s mistakes not hiring Todd Butler when he interviewed for a job at LSU in 2024. The guy can recruit with the best of them. He has tons of experience coaching in the SEC and knows what types of players can make the jump from Mid Majors or JUCO to the SEC. He has a proven track record. He will also be on Florida staff after this season.
