Not sure if he will enter or if he would pursue him but I go to Lipscomb and Miles Hutson (lead-off hitter for Lipscomb) is hitting .340 on the season and he would love to play for Jay Johnson. Our group project in one of our sports mangement classes had a whole section dedicated to Jay made by him lol.

Kind of off topic but I just saw an interview of Mikey Ryan (I think from Garland Gillen) and I am no longer rooting for him lol. I think the first words out of his mouth were "that's what happens when you lose me" referencing LSU missing the tournament.

Not Super upset about losing a JUCO power bat that had a 3/1 K:BB ratio.

Absolutely. To add on he is not a power guy at all (only 1 HR) but has a very low strikeout percentage, .414 OBP, 14 stolen bases, and had 6 triples this year. In a very small sample size he still hit roughly .300 against the SEC teams he faced as well. Could be a good Stanny replacement imo.

Would be a great story.

Armstrong also said stringer isn’t a draft risk at all so hard to gauge what he’s right about

interview of Mikey Ryan
Honestly I have the opposite reaction to that video. He felt slighted (irrelevant if he actually was or not) and used that as motivation to better himself. I think that's far better than the pouting and bitching that we usually see from football players. He seems to have the attitude necessary to find success in life so good for him. Maybe that offends some, but it worked for him if he's finding success in a legit conference

Yes please. We need to win a few of these big portal battles this year.

Reading the tea leaves, we’ll be a big part of this recruiting battle. Doesn’t take a detective to decipher.
As the portal heats up this week though, keep a pulse on what positions we prioritize. If it comes to grabbing a stud OF (Bino) or a stud corner INF, Jay will prioritize the infielder.

There’s a report out that Notre Dame is cutting baseball to 10.7 scholarships. Not sure of the veracity but it seems legit.
I think Bino Watters would be a good fit in Baton Rouge.
I said this about a month ago.
Also I think we were trying to entice him into the portal last offseason.
One of the best LHH in the country

Laskofski is entering the portal as well. I hope he’s our shortstop

Any connection we have that you know of? I see Jordan follows.
Also, like I stated earlier, If Jay wants a guy like Laskofski he will let a Texas school win the Watters sweepstakes. Not sure we will spend the $ to get both.
