So far, from the 2023 CWS I've found 20 Major Leaguers. There are several more on the cusp. I truly think it's the most talent laden field we've seen in Omaha in our lifetime.

Was a very loaded CWS which made for great games all the way around until the last two.

Sean Sullivan debuted for the Rockies this year, from Wake too.

I remember us going after him in the portal out of Northwestern.

Good call.

Quinn Matthews will probably make it up by the end of the season. One thing I didn't see coming was Oral Roberts producing more MLBers than TCU from that season. At least so far.

Its truly wild how loaded the rosters for wake, Florida and lsu were that year.

Tennessee was too. We beat 3 teams twice each that likely would have won in any other year.

But there are a lot of "LSU fans" that think anyone could have won with Skenes and Crews.

Because they're retards who don't understand context.

It’s a testament to how stacked the 2023 CWS field was that you knew, in the moment of us being there watching our games and other teams games, that this was one of the best collaboration of not just individual players but overall teams in Omaha ever. And especially our side of the bracket. Often times this sort of thing isn’t so apparent in the moment but is looked back on years/decades later from a historical perspective. But not 2023.

The data also supports it. I’ve seen some analysis done by some of these new age college baseball algo accounts that had our pathway to a natty, limited by just the teams we had to play in CWS as opposed to entire postseason play, as one of the top 3 toughest in modern history.

Lowder vs Skenes is still the best college baseball game I’ve ever watched. Nick Kurtz not being available for that game was huge for us

And to come out of the losers bracket no less to win the whole enchilada was other worldly IMO.

I was looking today, that team could have 8-10 more big leaguers on it.

1. Skenes
2. Crews
3. Taylor
4. White

5. Morgan
6. Frey
7. Herring
8. Shores
9. Floyd
10. Ack?
11. Cooper?
12. Hurd?
13. Coleman?
14. Neal?
15. Kling?
16. Jones?

Dutton, Collins, Guidry, Little, and Moffett are also still playing.

Jac Caglianone Florida
I think beating these three in a 3 game series without Skenes/Taylor/Shores/Edwards is one of the most impressive feats in LSU baseball history. shite, we chased Waldrep after 2.1, Sproat after 4, and Cags after 1.1.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but Ethan Clauss looks to be headed to Dallas Baptist, per the D1Baseball Portal Tracker.

We’ve had a lot of those over the years.

What first comes to mind reading that is 2017, beating then 56-4 Oregon State in back-to-back days without Poche, Walker, or Newman.

Or beating then 58-5 Texas A&M twice in 2 days in College Station in 1989, after playing 2 games just the day before, and 6 total across 4 days. Ben and Curtis Leskanic were men.

That's a good spot for him or any freshman hitter that can't crack an SEC lineup. Their field is a HR launch pad

Hopeful that things might work for him there. When I saw him last year, he seemed to be plagued with panic attacks.

John Eads (WAFB) caught up with William Schmidt for about 7 minutes. So it's nothing in depth. He tells John about his offseason goal to gain wt. (he dropped to 194lbs during the spring). He's back to 210lbs. with a goal of 220 by next year. Excited for the guys drafted and mentions that fall ball will be pretty intense.

I believe that was expected due to his status as DES and logjam here. He doesn’t want to go to school and if he has to then he wants be 2 years and done which he won’t be able to do here bc he’s not better than the guys coming in from his class and the portal guys.
