If Evans and Schmidt both go Top 15 we better win or be close to a natty

Yeah, it will be a hell of an indictment of Yeskie (rightly or wrongly) if Evans and Schmidt don't have great years.

Yeah, that's why I mentioned the other schools each with two guys higher.
In the top 100 there are 14 SEC pitchers from 6 Schools I think.
Tennessee has Landon Mack on there.
Texas has 3, State has 3, Florida has 3. LSU and Auburn with 2.
Loaded conference again. And I think overall the college pitching class for 2027 is stronger than the 2026 one was. A lot more guys with more track record.
And of the 14, I think only two (i could be wrong on this) are transfers (Mack and Valincius) and they both transferred last offseason. Which speaks to the portal market this offseason.

Yeah, there wasn't a lot of LHP firepower in the portal, which makes getting Nawrocki to campus that much bigger.

I thought jordin griffin was a top 10 prospect

If tweet fails to load, click here.I like this and hate it at the same time. The zone they used in the SECT was absolutely massive. They were still putrid. Maybe, if anything, this will encourage the SEC have a little more scrutiny in who they hire as umpires.

Would help pitchers IMO. They got a lot of called strikes in the SEC tourney that they didn't get during the season because of ABS.
Makes the need to find quality umps less relevant not more IMO.

Stetson and Air Force coaches both stepping down today.
Kaz at Air Force got a promotion within the academy.
Trimper at Stetson is retiring I think.
A couple good mid major programs that have recently become portal factories.

I love this. The SEC umpiring quality made me love this.

I don't think Hacopian is a full slot guy, even if they give him $6MM they would bank an extra $130k.
Hacopian got 5.7MM. They may be able to get enough to sign Murphy.

How big will the automated zone be is the question

Tommy Tanks got called up to the bigs

I think that ABS will be a good thing for us. The strike zone tightens up a good bit in conference compared to preconference. If we have to get used to the same strike zone all year it’ll only help us in the long run. We just may not look like world beaters on the mound in February and march like we did for the last few years.

Does that make him the 3rd big leaguer from the 23 team?

Isn't Grant Taylor with the White Sox? He was on the 2023 team.

I was looking today, that team could have 8-10 more big leaguers on it.
I think everyone thought Tre Morgan would be next but he’s played poorly.
Javen Coleman may be the next guy up. Doing really well in AA with the blue jays coming out of the pen

So far, from the 2023 CWS I've found 20 Major Leaguers. There are several more on the cusp. I truly think it's the most talent laden field we've seen in Omaha in our lifetime.
