Is this Blake Mitchell guy on the futures game a former LSU commit? Seems familiar but not sure bc it’s not an uncommon name

I will say, 500k before tax seems low

i’d rather roll the dice on not sucking in college and there is a solid chance you can make more than that.

500k won’t last you to the major if you want to live comfortably

Most High school kids selected in this range will get north of $700k

Looks like the Giants are shaping up to be a team we want to avoid taking players.

nmh3303, I would agree about Vandy beat writer Aria Gerson being in shambles but the lack of knowledge of what’s going on for Vanderbilt, is even funnier

Giants just made another pick for pennies. They can roll over pool money past the 10th right? These rules always get tweaked so I cannot remember them.

Yes. Part of that run of Nolan Cain recruiting a bunch of catchers that never made it to campus. Drew Romo and the kid from Iowa were also part of that.

I don’t ask much about the Giants stuff.

But just from an org set up standpoint, at this point in the draft we probably have a much info about what the Giants are doing as Tony does.

Some teams focus their slot money into like 5-6 picks and start taking anyone who will sign for peanuts after that

If you're a HS pitcher that has control issues and teams are willing to pay you now, you need to take that money

He’s in the futures game the year after he was drafted, that alone says he made the right choice

People on twitter are saying rounds 11 and 12 could get crazy for high school prospects.
