Grant Fontenot just went to Royals in 10th round (299 overall).

Looks like teams will have money to spend in the 11th and 12th rounds.

People on twitter are saying rounds 11 and 12 could get crazy for high school prospects.

If a team drafts a player in the 11th round, you should assume they already have an agreement on a number. In this “new” post-COVID format, that round, and the 12th round but to a lesser degree, has a high rate of inking deals.

Yea the next 3 rounds minimum are going to be the money rounds. This 10th round is not all penny signing players for no reason.

Unfortunately, from the college’s perspective, this is the way it is every year. This year is no different.

The giants might be able to throw $2M at a kid in the 11th.

There has been a very low number of HS players selected this year. Teams will have more money than usual to spend in 11-20.

Yep. This the the MLBs version of just sticking the tip in. I’m ready to be disappointed while remaining optimistic

10 rounds down. 10 rounds to go.

Just did a review of the signing rate of players drafted in 2025 rounds 11-20. It was a jarring reminder of just how very much not outta the dark we are.

Why would these high rank LSU kids take peanuts now. Maybe they were ranked higher than they should have.
It seems as if u really like any of these young men you would have already taken them. I think we get more kids than expected at this point.

They can still get mud to high 6 to even 7 figure offers

See River Hamilton from last year

Teams have way more than peanuts to offer kids still. If any player has a number less than 7 figures, they are attainable for many many teams.

Some teams can even go low 7 figures. Recent history has shown that, though in rare cases, a 7-figure deal can be done in these slot/pool money tomfoolery rounds. Example: Toronto signed a HS after drafting him in 12th round in 2025 for $1,697,500, a $1,547,500 pool “hit.”

Outside of the tier 1 guys, the Rankings do not really matter in relation to draft position.

Any reports from other highly rated signing classes? Are they seeing the same trend so far?
